  1. i miss him and hope he is well
  2. Drag racing in his Camero while high on Meth? maybe take it easy and pound some natty ice.
  3. by the way, isn't buehrle a great example of how much luck is involved in throwing a perfect game or no hitter? the guy has given up more than a hit per inning in his career. that he has thrown two no-hitters, including a perfect game, in his career is pretty fortunate.
  4. hawk is an awful announcer so it's fitting that the call of buehrle's perfect game is awful.
  5. muschko started for daytona. you lied to me.
  6. i think vitters is a better pure hitter than anyone who's been in the system for a while; his strike zone recognition is most certainly not. if anything he's been described as a guy whose contact skills are so good that he can hit a lot of pitches out of the strike zone that most players cannot hit.
  7. nobody thought edwin jackson would be this good though... even edwin jackson didn't think so. bah, plenty of people thought jackson could be this good...i am one of those people ok, so they either thought that five years ago and changed their opinion, or they're the type of people who still think that jason dubois and corey patterson still have some nice upside.
  8. well maybe he will just retire now.
  9. nobody thought edwin jackson would be this good though... even edwin jackson didn't think so.
  10. maybe. i know the red sox were sending "cash considerations," which i assume would be most of lugo's contract in 2009-10.
  11. yeah, unless i see evidence to the contrary, don mossi will forever be the ugliest man to play major league baseball. he was even legendary for his ugliness during his playing days.
  12. they also have 7 games with the dodgers, 3 at philly and 3 at colorado. unfortunately they have 7 with san diego, who is wretched.
  13. the cards have played the easiest schedule in baseball so far, how can it possibly get easier?
  14. yeah but the west really isn't bad. the dodgers are very good, colorado is leading the WC and the giants are 6 games over .500. still, their schedule isn't all that favorable. they get the mets now, which is good timing because the mets stink, but they're already done with the nationals and padres and still have 8 games remaining with the phillies (4 home, 4 road), 3 with the braves (home), 7 with florida (4 road, 3 home). they've already played all their home games with the cubs and have 7 road games remaining, and they have 3 home and 6 road with both the brewers and cardinals.
  15. i think he misread it off the bat, but it's chris coste on an 0-2 count so i understand it. and he's very good in CF. not as good as UZR says, but he's well above average out there. that being said, he may not even be the best defensive rookie CF in the division. andrew mccutcheon is also quite good.
  16. that's something that a lot of peope forget. you see guys like bonds, clemens, a-rod juicing and think that they're great because of it - no, they were already great, but juiced to become greater. there are a huge number of players who juice to either come back from injury or to separate themselves from the other AAAA talents; guys who have never known anything but baseball and are scared that they're going to be out of the game soon. i do sympathize with those people.
  17. by the way, i think a reasonable offer for sherrill would be something like fox, gaub and harrison/guyer. or sub out fox and harrison/guyer and sub in carpenter. sherrill is not good enough to fetch someone like vitters, castro, jackson or cashner.
  18. Someone should tell them the Cubs are interested in Sherrill not Nick Markakis. I'd be pissed off if they gave up any of the 4 guys mentioned by themself let alone a package involving a couple. i'd like to think the cubs know better than to trade a solid prospect (jon garland) for a middle reliever (matt karchner).
  19. man i thought he was 27. that does change things. and you're right, the difference between laroche and martinez at 1b isn't large enough to justify giving up buchholz. i'd rather take a dump in a bag and exchange that for laroche.
  20. yeah, martinez also has a $7M club option (no-brainer) for 2010. i still like buchholz a lot, but i could not have turned down that trade if i were the red sox.
  21. is it too late to submit a question?
  22. no base on balls or dropped third strikes. respect the game.
  23. they've been heading downhill since october 13, 2007. i suppose this season is headed downhill in a hurry though.
  24. russ ortiz, mike hampton, brian moehler. who are three guys who are not likely to hold up well during the second half of the seasons?
