  1. whatever, this is philadelphia, they should be glad they're not getting batteries thrown at them. suck it up.
  2. ok make another out pujols and let's get on with it.
  3. he completely dominated the cubs for 3 innings like four days ago.
  4. he needs to throw high 90s to get by... his slider really inconsistent and his fastball is farnsworth-straight. if he's having trouble locating his fastball and is sitting low to mid 90s he's going to get shelled.
  5. you should see it in philly, he might be the most popular player on the team. I think hes underrated as hell. Hes a good ball player he's underrated by people outside philly and overrated by people there. you're right though, he's very good - can hit enough to play corner OF but plays an above-average CF, great baserunner, gets on base at around a .350 clip and will chip in about 30 doubles, 8 triples and 12 homers a year. he really works hard and is a good clubhouse guy and a fan favorite who gets the most out of his ability. really not one of the greats of the game, but very good all-around ballplayer.

  7. bahahaha the flyin hawaiian now... screw you motte.
  8. Isn't he the player who is boning OleMissCub's ex-girlfriend? yeah. i believe he and brendan ryan were also the first two state college spikes to play in the majors. thankfully they have switched affiliations to the pirates so i can now root for them.
  9. huh? he's playing ss and batting 6th today for the big club.
  10. i feel like brandon wood will still be a prospect in 2019. i think the angels will do that... aybar is pretty important to them. not really sure what they want with saunders though; he's already 28 and will have 3 years of service time after this season. I may have misunderstood, but I think Rosenthal said the Angels turned the deal now. Not positive, though. If I were the Blue Jays, I'd wait the Phillies out a bit more. if they traded both aybar and wood, kendrick woud be their only 2B, figgins would be the only 3B (robb quinlan sucks) and maicer izturis would be their only SS. kendrick was so bad that he was farmed out until early July, figgins hurts his hamstring every season and izturis also tends to get some little injuries. they can give up wood but not aybar; giving away both guys would kill their middle infield depth. toronto could try to throw in scutaro though.
  11. another supreme effort by 36 year old phenomenon trever miller. now here comes jason motte, owner of the stupidest gameday photo of the year, to shut down werth and feliz.

  13. urge to kill... rising....
  14. hicks from missouri, for one.
  15. his ERA is barely above 2.00. you're probably thinking of the trever miller who was mediocre the previous 15 years of his professional career. this one is awesome.
  16. trever miller in for the cards. you might recognize him as a journeyman reliever who had never posted an ERA below 3, but now that he has reached the cardinals at age 36 he has decided to become lights out.
  17. you knew it was going to happen (lugo becoming good) yet when it happens, it still pisses you off so badly.
  18. they should offer arbitration... he probably won't accept so then you let him go elsewhere. no gregg plus (probably) two first round draft picks is a lot better than signing gregg at a free agent price. harden is also likely to be type A... john grabow (pirates) would be a good trade target because he's a lefty (not necessarily great against LH batters though) and projects to be type A after this season. beimel is likely to be type B.
  19. Dont say that because you know Hendry will gobble them up i just want them to not be on the cardinals getting paid peanuts to play like all stars.
  20. 3-2 now after a holliday double, lucky ludwick bloop hit and ryan howard error. now lopez is being squeezed, derosa walks and 1st and 2nd with 1 out. some of these overachievers (ludwick, pineiro) need to hit free agency. molina GIDP, 3-2 phils.
  21. i'm certainly not judging watkins as a bust, just saying that he was given a bonus that shocked a lot of people. it may turn out to be a smart move, but most of them have been foolish.
  22. i'm sure he did overpay, but the way to recoup your losses isn't by shrinking payroll, letting the team slide into mediocrity and watching fan support go down the toilet.
  23. leads baseball in outs in years he starts most of the time...
  24. Seriously I don't even know what to make of this anymore. The Cardinals could honestly bring in the 2006 Cubs and still be in the pennant race. Other than Khalil Greene I can't think of any big flop they've had. as i predicted yesterday, lugo will rake for the cards while being paid $13.5M by the red sox, and red sox fans will burn him in effigy as they wonder where the hell this was for the 2.5 years he played there.
  25. lugo is 2-2. i knew this [expletive] would happen.
