the phils and dodgers sure look like the class of the NL at this point. They do, and so did we last year. Just get us in the playoffs and lets see what happens oh i'd never underestimate the chances of an inferior team winning a short series. if either team gets halladay they'll be clear favorites.

Or just play Sori there and let Fox play left. Well, the question is, how good is Fox's arm? Is it strong enough to throw out a runner heading towards home plate? the question is also how many runs you give up by losing two average defensive players and replacing them with terrible defensive players (soriano at 2b, fox in lf each qualify as terrible)

i wouldn't call 27 BB in 89 games "excellent" in low A for a guy who played three years at vandy. a walk rate of 8.2% isn't bad but it really isn't good either. -

that's because he had a .296 BABIP despite a 26.4 LD%, and an 85.4 LOB%. the short story is that duke isn't as bad as he's been in his bad years, and isn't as good as he was in 2005 and is in 2009. his BABIP is lucky this season (.280 despite a LD% of 20) and his LOB% is back up to 76. his numbers have fluctuated a lot but it's mostly been because of his defense and luck. he won't walk a whole lot of guys but is very hittable. basically he's a lefthanded jason marquis, minus a few walks. he'll eat up some innings but he's a back of the rotation guy.

i will say that the kaplan story does not say that the cubs have discussed moving bradley, it just says that the tigers have interest in him. kaplan's story could be true and bruce's post (cubs haven't heard anything about the tigers being interested and haven't talked about trading bradley) could also be true. it's also possible that kaplan doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.

they vote him into the All-Star game every year, so I'd say yes well yeah but what are the other options at 2B in the national league? orlando hudson and brandon phillips? there are some decent players but nobody near utley's level. i just feel like people wouldn't think of him as one of the best players in the game if they were coming up with a list off the top of their head.
