  1. Big Ben lead the league in sacks last year, I would call him a great QB roethlisberger has taken 182 sacks since 2006... peyton manning has taken 59.
  2. signs your team has quit - they allow ahman green's motorized wheelchair to reach the end zone.
  3. my opponent in fantasy football finals has jonathon stewart. [expletive] you, giants.
  4. way to completely mail it in, giants.
  5. it's very possible that we'd have the following teams at 8-7 going into next week: baltimore, pittsburgh, houston, denver plus the jets could conceivably beat the colts, if the colts aren't trying this week. if baltimore loses to pitt then the bengals win the afc north, regardless of whether they beat kc today. next week's games for these teams: pitt @ miami new england @ houston cincy @ ny jets kc @ denver baltimore @ oakland really don't know who has the tiebreakers in this big cluster fudge.
  6. lol giants
  7. either way there are plenty of jorts flying at half mast in gainesville right now.
  8. That was about the only positive thing said about Chris Johnson and even that was an underwhelming endorsement. I had the opinion that he was a really nice player with a ton of speed, but that drafting a running back was overkill and that we had more pressing needs. I liked CJ, but didn't think he'd be this good. and now it looks like chris brown sucks and lendale white will never be more than a short-yardage guy. i guess the moral of the story is, if you spot special talent, take it and then worry about how to get it onto the field later. also, it seems like around the league, most teams have a good change of pace rb or are finding better success with their fast RB. like the giants and ahmad bradshaw, who has been better than brandon jacobs.
  9. lose in the sec championship game, tebow is a senior and their coach is gone. rough december for the gators. looks like meph is mostly a texas fan now.
  10. Google, wikipedia, facebook and youtube have all been massively important. myspace was important and probably gave rise to facebook, but it doesn't seem like a big deal any more. i don't know how to vote yet.
  11. i'm 2 for 7 on my bowl picks and the team i put the most confidence points on (nevada) got blown out. i hate picking bowl games.
  12. team #2: need 2 RB, 2 WR and 1 RB/WR from: RB: c. johnson, r. rice, d. williams, j. harrison WR: s. rice, d. jackson, v. jackson, s. holmes, r. meachem, m. crabtree d'angelo williams is probably out so i'm not playing him. obviously i'm playing c. johnson and pretty sure i have to play rice. lots of good options at WR but i'm leaning toward the two jacksons. so my flex comes down to: j. harrison, s. rice, s. holmes, r. meachem, m. crabtree leaning toward harrison since oakland really sucks.
  13. his xFIP was 4.19 last year. he wasn't great but he should have been better than he was.
  14. the yankees haven't been producing a regular influx of all-star caliber talent since the late 90s.
  15. how can you be so obtuse? what? what did you call me? obtuse. is it deliberate?
  16. very glad i haven't seen a replay of that.... sounds horrifying.
  17. 2 teams in the finals... one i'm waiting to see what happens with waiver pickups though. first team: qb: mcnabb, palmer rb: frank gore, mojo (no-brainers) wr: boldin (no-brainer), s. holmes wr/te: v. davis (no-brainer) wr/rb: crabtree wr/rb/te: maroney pretty sure i'm going mcnabb over palmer, and i think i have to play maroney too. i have a bench of: jerious norwood, sproles, t.o., manningham. does norwood get enough carries against buffalo's hideous run D? are either t.o. (unlikely) or manningham better plays than crabtree?
  18. yeah i'd do that.
  19. carter has played right wing in the past. mostly i'd just love to get tuukka rask; we've needed a franchise goalie for 20 years now and i think he will be one.
  20. i agree with this notion. i feel like if the cubs shop him now, teams will say "why is this big market team shopping a cheap player who's been relatively productive for them" and come to the same conclusion that tim arrived at in his article - theriot is a useful player when cheap but loses a lot of value as he heads farther up the arby ladder. i think you'd get the best return on him if you wait until midseason and hope that a contender has either a lack of production or an injury at middle infield. teams can get desperate to fill a black hole.
  21. LOL [expletive] no. You clearly haven't been paying attention to the potential juggernaut they've been slowly building I've been paying attention, thanks. A bug chunk of their "potential juggernaut" is in pitching prospects, and we know from history that a good share of those guys are likely to be exposed before reaching the HOF. Seriously, for a franchise that's produced Brian Roberts, Mike Mussina, Erik Bedard, and Nick Markakis in the last two decades, it's hard to get too carried away with the "juggernaut" talk. plus peter angelos is still the owner. that's not giving a left nut, that's getting kicked in the nuts.
  22. that would be HILARIOUS if the rockets just started drafting all purdue players
  23. i don't think you have much to worry about; the redskins have stopped trying and are waiting to be coached by shanahan next year.
  24. i wonder if the flyers and bruins could possibly work something out involving carter and tuukka rask. maybe something like carter and braydon coburn for rask, marco sturm and andrew ference? just sort of thinking out loud here and trying to make salaries match up fairly well.
