I think you guys are understating how much cap issues the Hawks are going to have the next couple of years. That is basically what the announcer was talking about. no, i understood what he was talking about, and i understand we're going to lose some guys. i was referring to the "blowing up" part. yeah that was dumb, but this is probably the only year that the hawks are truly loaded with a number of guys near their prime. they can't keep this team together because of the cap. they should still be really good in the future, but i would like them a lot more if they didn't have campbell and hossa.

If McCoy had stayed healthy, especially after the start they had, this would be a competitive game. I have no idea why Texas didn't just get in to the locker room as soon as possible there. Seriously that was one of the dumbest playcalls Ive ever seen. A shovel pass with that amount of time left in the half? Completely moronic shovel pass is generally a safe play call. i think i've only seen it get picked off like once before that. i would've taken a knee but if you're calling a pass, shovel pass is pretty much the way to go.

now that nick saban is about to reach the pinnacle of college football accomplishments - a 14-0 season and a national championship - maybe he will realize that he has nothing left to accomplish at alabama and leave for an nfl job.

the jets and bengals are the two worst teams in the playoffs. i don't know which team is going to win but i do know that it won't matter.

carpenter always gets hurt and it was somewhat of a miracle that he pitched nearly 200 innings at a very high level after pitching only 21 innings in the previous two years. their starting center fielder sucked and they were better off with colby rasmus playing. this was a year after he played over 150 games. he's a 34 year old guy who was already injury-prone in his 20s when he was pumping his body full of steroids. not exactly shocking that someone like this would break down. like 2 weeks. and the guy who replaced him played better than he did, so what's the big deal? khalil greene sucks; they shouldn't have traded for him in the first place.

that's slightly true because the really good teams are the teams with a lot of money, and those are the teams that will go out and spend big dollars on relievers. but a lot of the really good teams have home-grown guys who have turned into really good relievers (phil hughes, troncoso, broxton, papelbon, masterson), not a bunch of mediocre retreads (grabow) who are signed to dumb deals.

could have been undefeated but for a play here or there that's true, but i have to think that the lousy field conditions in the florida bowl games probably favored big ten teams.

or at least ran a fake that didn't rely on your fg kicker out runner a cb. yeah, at least have someone go out for a pass. the entire defense is crowded within 13 yards of the field, you're not going to have a slow little guy get to the corner in that situation.
