  1. jeez was that ever a nice hit from kesler
  2. quan sturdivant, LB from north carolina
  3. Pretty obvious the plan wasn't for him to only pitch to one batter in the 5th. still makes it pretty dumb. if you want him to stay in the game then leave him in past that hitter, regardless of outcome. it shouldn't be "welp he gave up a home run, looks like he doesn't have it, better go to the pen."
  4. mediocre outing from mcnutt and very good outing from kirk. micah gibbs has been miles better than he was last year.
  5. soto has been pretty unlucky this year... getting tired of seeing him drill one right at a fielder.
  6. i actually think it's a pretty good lineup besides byrd batting #3. thankfully the wretched pena is sitting out in favor of a guy who rakes against LHP.
  7. jeff passan sucks but at least this isn't an opinion article but a piece with some background on castro. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AtbGc8MFbdHJ0pgm_0TEMsIRvLYF?slug=jp-passan_starlin_castro_cubs_shortstop_dominican_042611
  8. Jose Offerman says hello ah, the exception the proves the rule!
  9. their teammates carry around matzoh and gefilte fish just in case one of their Jewish teammates complains about the price of something? that's pretty weird.
  10. invention of flight canceled out by the ignominy of the dayton swim club
  11. i would like to know if davearm thinks george brett was acting like a savage during the infamous pine tar game.
  12. whooooooooooosssssssssh
  13. someone outta get oughtta this thread.
  14. luis montanez had 3 doubles and a home run... whoever selected him third overall has to be feeling pretty good about this kid.
  15. we used two pinch hitters in the game, dewitt and reed johnson. if it's a five run game i can understand it, but a close game? give me a break.
  16. so they're going to leave aramis on the bench when he could be the tying run at the plate? awesome.
  17. so basically black outfielders with not much power?
  18. 0-for-8 with RISP now... 10 LOB overall. rockies have only two. terrible fielding plus poor hitting with runners on base, that's a good formula for losing when your starter outpitches the other guy.
  19. maybe if you'd predicted a ground out he would've hit a base-clearing double.
  20. well that's a pretty good outing for garza, except for castro's bad fielding.
  21. it will probably be defined by what he says because he's not a good enough player to define it with his play. he's a fairly generic DH/corner OF on a bad team; those types of guys don't make a name for themselves by hitting .275 with 25 home runs every year.
  22. vitters is 0-4 with 3 k's. his numbers have been dropping like a rock since a solid start.
  23. send down castro to learn fundamentals; call up whatever 35 year old at iowa has been hot for a week.
