  1. +61450271453... don't think anyone is going to want to text me, but if you have WhatsApp then you can text me on that without getting international charges.
  2. sorry adam, i will have my parents mail you a $20 to cover this season and next.
  3. did we ever work out what we'd be doing about this?
  4. twist at the end of the commercial - farmer enters the barn sans pants.
  5. a $12m salary for his age 35 season makes the contract a lot less desirable? that's pretty small potatoes unless he becomes completely unproductive in 5 years.
  6. in related news, here was the line to buy marlins single-game tickets when they went on sale: http://l.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/t8IAjwPOZNcmya401PUZNg--/YXBwaWQ9eW5ld3M7cT04NTt3PTYzMA--/http://media.zenfs.com/en/blogs/sptusmlbexperts/marlinstickets020913.jpg
  7. I thought it was 100 abs Players will be cap-exempt for their first three years. A year is a season in which a player has 50 or more plate appearances, 5 pitching starts, or 10 total appearances.
  8. who the hell is kim jin-yeong?
  9. keepers: goldschmidt (exempt) castro (exempt) kipnis (exempt) longoria (235.75) austin jackson (exempt) darvish (exempt) halladay (316) cliff lee (576) shields (597) hellickson (exempt) total: 1724.75
  10. just saw that bourn signed for 4/48. i would've given him that without thinking twice. actually probably would've gone to around 4/60. nice deal for the tribe.
  11. http://www.nytimes.com/2000/08/15/sports/baseball-the-greatest-player-nobody-knows.html guess he tries to emulate mark grace off the field too.
  12. haven't been involved the last few weeks as i've been training for a 20k swim. should have a little more free time now since i'm starting to rest more with the swim less than 3 weeks away. i'm open to trading pablo sandoval, who's relatively cheap due to an injury last year (297.25 points). also open to trading either paul goldschmidt or anthony rizzo, both of whom are exempt and will be exempt for the 2014 season. i'm keeping cliff lee, roy halladay, evan longoria and probably james shields.
  13. well there are loads of times when it's good to take a penalty, like tackling a defensive end who's about to steamroll your qb from the blind side, or a defensive back hauling down or holding a wide receiver who has him badly beat on a double move. or taking an intentional delay of game on a punt. and this is ignoring all the circumstances in which a team commits a dirty play and hurts an important player on the other team, but only faces a 15 yard penalty. the competition committee is really going to have their work cut out for them if they're going to ban every penalty that may be advantageous to the offending team.
  14. just getting caught up on this. Jesus what an offensive article. i'm adopted and have no interest in meeting my birth parents. i'm glad my birth mother decided to have me and put me up for adoption, and i'm glad that i ended up with the people i call my parents, but beyond that, i have no need. i was adopted when i was two weeks old. i've never known my parents as anything other than that. they loved me and supported me. they're my parents; my brother is my brother. that's it. i'd feel awful if some guy went around badgering me to get in touch with my birth parents and calling my birth mother and harassing her too. [expletive] rick reilly. what a condescending piece of [expletive].

  16. in the english league cup, a fourth division team (bradford city) with player salaries of less than £2m total has beaten wigan, arsenal and aston villa to advance to the league final and play at wembley. against swansea, which beat chelsea in the match where the ballboy was kicked. also, bradford city now have more wins this season over premier league teams than QPR.
  17. i'm partial to brady anderson's 1996, when he went from nice leadoff hitter with really good on base skills and some pop to "wait this guy is going to hit 50 home runs?"
  18. i guess they might as well make it a balk since everyone in the stands yells balk anyway.
  19. i don't know why anyone would guarantee playing time to a 28 year old corner outfielder who can't hit much, let alone care about honoring a supposed playing time commitment to said player. if he bitches about being relegated to fourth OF duties behind a prospect who actually has some promise, then trade him for nothing. who gives a crap.
  20. Says a gunman who enjoys hiding in the bushes and shooting wildly. I get that you all hate ND but I don't much give a [expletive] and I'm happy to exchange barbs with the lot of you. your repeated reponses to obvious trolling would suggest otherwise.
  21. depends on how they do. if they keep playing surprisingly well then he'll continue to draw interest from nfl teams. if they stink, as they very well might, then nfl teams might cross him off their lists. plus he could probably stay at psu for a long time and make a lot of money; it doesn't make much sense for him to leave psu just to get a foot in the door with some garbage franchise like jacksonville.
  22. ironically, crazytown is also the nickname of sulley's residence.
  23. wtf? he hasn't even interviewed with the eagles. i'm sure he WANTS to leave for a nfl head coaching job though, and who can blame him, really. i wouldn't stay on that sinking ship. anyway, i would think that if chip kelly is interviewing with the bills, browns and eagles that the eagles would probably have the inside track due to financial resources and greater track record the past 10 years. the bills are useless and the browns have been bad for years.
  24. i prefer to pretend that whole white sox thing never happened.
  25. there are definitely not 32 coaches around who are better than lovie smith and andy reid. they should get jobs pretty quickly.
