  1. The local forecast continues to look more bleak... since we don't have a tarp or awning, we may have to move the tailgate back to my friend's place. It would be awesome to tailgate outside all day, but standing in the rain for 7 hours doesn't sound like much of a good time.
  2. "Paternoville" continues to grow outside Gate A... http://gallery.gopsusports.com/Images/Gallery/football/2005-10-05/paternoville1.jpg
  3. Just a word of warning, and I have no first hand evidence to back it up. But apparently visiting team fans aren't treated well AT ALL in Cleveland. I mean, AT ALL. Just so you know. Browns fans are surprisingly die-hard. Thanks for the warning. I will try not to be "that guy" I do hope it is not as bad as I saw Eagles fans get treated at the playoffs a few years ago at Soldier. I felt terrible for those people. There was almost a riot in one of the bathrooms. Wait, so Philadelphia fans aren't the only ones in sports who are belligerent? Shocking!:)
  4. I will withhold comment on this football game.
  5. My ex-girlfriend was only attracted to 2 chicks... Angie Everhart, and the girl from the band Garbage.
  6. Terrell Owens. OK I'm kidding mostly, but I know that at least half of my 10 team league scoffed at me for drafting him in the middle of the third round when he was at odds with McNabb and suspended from training camp by the Eagles. Needless to say, I'm fairly happy with what he's given me so far.
  7. Murray has only had the one big year (42G/90P) but even last year he wasn't bad. I am rolling the dice on Hejduk having a big year and stepping up in the absence of Forsberg... of course, he could decline with Forsberg in Philly and with more of a weight falling on his shoulders, but that's a chance I'm willing to take. It's a close deal and an interesting one, and it'll be cool to see how it turns out. I can't see any reason why people would object to it, so I think it'll go through.
  8. Wait, so that offer is your 6th, 11th and 12th round picks for my 1st, 3rd and 15th round picks? Sorry but I am gonna have to shoot that one down. My team is basically in the crapper is Ilya sits out the whole year. I made this counterproposal: You get: Tkachuk - LW Glen Murray - RW Leopold - D I get: Shanahan - LW Hejduk - RW Pitkanen - D That's a 3rd, 6th and 15th rounder for a 4th, 6th and 12th rounder... pretty fair I think, and we both get to satisfy our homer urges.
  9. It's photoshopped... I stole it off the OU Fark page. Although who knows, perhaps it's really Mo.
  10. Nah, Kovalchuk. His 41G,49A are sitting halfway around the world right now.
  11. I hope you enjoy losing. Whatever pal, don't get overconfident... the better-paid team doesn't necessarily win all the time!
  12. Thanks for getting All-American back for me, Vance... congrats
  13. Not even close, Rickey Henderson... one of the more underappreciated players in recent memory, I think.
  14. Hmm, that sounds like a very fair offer, about 10 years ago. Make me an offer with Pitkanen, I like that guy. BTW, I went on the draft site and it said the draft would be at 9 PM EST, and when I got there at that time it was almost done... what gives? I am pretty happy with my team, just curious what happened... Also, it would be nice if my first round pick would actually show up to play in the NHL this season, since I'm pretty sure that whatever stats he puts up in Russia will not count toward our scoring.
  15. I guess it's the Rangers' fault that the Yankees $200M roster still wasn't enough to buy homefield advantage for a first-round playoff series. That's OK, their crying about this just gives me yet another reason to hate them.
  16. Well my team put up a good fight but your team was definitely a little better... good match, sport
  17. College GameDay is coming to State College this weekend, OH YEAH. Also, I will be tailgating all day with a fine spread, putting away an appropriate share of beverages, and then going bonkers in the student section... can't wait for Saturday!
  18. I think if they both win out, VT will be over Texas. VT plays three more ranked teams (Miami, BC, Virginia) and Texas has to play only Texas Tech. True Texas did beat OSU, which was a big win, but VT is killing everyone they play, including then 15 ranked GT and a WV team that many thought would give them a run for their money (including me). If they are both undefeated at the end of the year IMO VT deserves to be above them. Well if you were looking at schedule strength and quality of victories, then Auburn belonged in the title game last year ahead of both USC and Oklahoma... but things don't work that way. Sans playoff, there's probably going to be controversy once again.
  19. Yeah there isn't one this year, meaning that there will be as many celebrations outside Wrigley as there will be Cardinal World Series victory celebrations outside Busch this year.
  20. The Cubs have botched everything else this year; I'm sure they'll find a way to F this up too... go on a 6 game winning streak to end the year or something.
  21. Edited because I'm a moron.
  22. You were saying that the players from my first years in peoria weren't good cause it was the Cardinals org. and i was pointing out that there ar emore players from 2002-2004 Peoria in St. Louis right now (winning a division) than there are from 2002-2004 Lansing in Chicago right now... This makes me a sad panda... a lot of the talent on the Lansing club was supposedly going to make the Cubs a consistent contender in the NL Central for many years. Oh well, we are the Cubs after all, you don't go almost 100 years without winning because good fortune is smiling upon you.
  23. Tom Glavine would be a much better example... he's been a notoriously poor pitcher in the first inning throughout most of his career.
  24. W. Mark Felt is the source of the leaks.
