  1. If anyone else wants to play, get your entry in. I'll post my entry tomorrow, and then we'll start with first basemen.
  2. Rich Hill at Iowa: 7-1, 1.80 ERA, 100 IP, 62 H, 3 HR, 21 BB, 135 K Oh by the way, he's still pitching for Iowa.
  3. All right.... for those of us that are out of the loop, who is meatball ? crappy singer ... "Paradise by the Dashboard Light", stuff like that
  4. Ugh... I'm watching Mets-Astros and Meatloaf is now in the booth with Buck and McCarver... with Buck and Meatloaf now singing together. Hello mute butoon
  5. Yeah, but I think a lot of the time, once the pitcher looks you back, you figure the Cubs are going for the double play and won't notice the runner breaking for the plate.
  6. Josh Hamilton
  7. it was a joke
  8. Bruce Ruffin
  9. Who's the chick in the photo with him, and why is she in the photo in the first place? He's a bad fatty.
  10. Maybe the best-known early bust of all time - Clint Hartung.
  11. I guess Ozzie was probably ok with Juan Marichal turning around and cold-cocking John Roseboro with his bat?
  12. Carlos Quintana
  13. Alex Escobar
  14. If he wants to kid around with Dick Pole, can't he just make fun of his name?
  15. Greenwell actually had a decent career until he decided to be a race car driver. The guy finished at .303/.368/.463. Green monster-aided he might have been, but the guy was no bust. I have quite a few Mike Harkeys and Ty Griffins amongst my old time collection (currently residing in my dad's attic); but for colossal busts, I don't don't think you get much bigger than Shawn Abner. ah, very nice one there. Brien Taylor.
  16. Hopefully his wedding is more successful than the 2004 Cubs.
  17. he panned out... in Japan. Sam Horn
  18. Yeah, I remember when the Phillies called him up, everyone was so excited about him. Career OBP under .300. Also for the Phillies during the same era, Ricky Jordan. 77 walks in 677 career games.
  19. haha, I remember Bob Hamelin. He had a great first year, but that's about it. Gary Scott.
  20. I wouldn't say this is fair. He had over 4000 ABs in his career and finished with a batting average of .303. Oh yeah, busted prospects. Mike Harkey.
  21. Of course Gonzalez won't have his option picked up for next year... his OPS is under 800, he's 38 years and he'll cost $10 million. Meanwhile, there's a major-league ready replacement for him at a cheap cost. Quentin very well could outproduce Gonzo next season.
  22. I was looking through old baseball cards today, and laughing about some of the Donruss "Rated Rookies" or the Topps Rookie All-Stars. Guys who were really big-time prospects but who were duds in the big-leagues. I guess we can include people like Todd van Poppel, who had long (though mediocre) career, but was supposed to be the next Clemens. The rules - give one and then let someone else take a turn. I'll start. Kevin Maas
  23. CCR is probably in my top 5 favorite bands and I'd have voted for them over a lot of others that had matchups in the second round, but unfortunately for them, the Doors are probably my favorite band, period.
