  1. Total of 73 yards in passing through almost 3 quarters in the OU-aTm game.... zzzzzzz...
  2. You're quite selective in your evaluation. Here's who West Virginia beat this year: Marshall Eastern Washington Maryland @East Carolina @Mississippi State Syracuse @UConn So you're telling me that Penn State, Wisconsin and Notre Dame aren't that good - in large part because of the quality of their competition this year - but you're giving WVU credit for being a really good team? Based on what? A home win over Maryland? That doesn't mean WVU isn't a good team. Texas played one good team last year in Ohio State and the rest of their schedule was horrible because the Big 12 stunk in 2005 but does that make them a bad team? Of course not. Obviously Texas was creaming their opponents and had Vince Young, but the fact is that they didn't play anybody last year but nobody questioned how good they were. I brought this up yesterday and I'll bring it up again. A lot of people instantly ripped WVU and UL for not playing defense in Thursday's game but very few people stopped to consider if maybe it was actually two extremely good offenses at work. Texas and USC combined for 79 points and 1130 yards in the National Title game last year but was that horrible defense? Of course not. Every single sportswriter referred to it somthing like the epic encounter of two historic offenses. Not one mention of potentially bad defenses. A lot of people have this notion that the Big East isn't very good and is an inferior conference. That's completely wrong. Some people will even argue that the Big East doesn't even deserve a BCS bid which is absurd. The Big East is a quality football conference that is rapidly improving. I think that Louisville deserves to be the #2 team in that nation right now over Michigan. Yes, but your determination that teams like Wisconsin, Penn State and Notre Dame are overrated, but WVU is legit, is completely arbitrary. If you're going to say that the ND and the Big Ten schools haven't beaten anyone, then you have to acknowledge that WV's schedule has been just as pathetic, if not moreso.
  3. Is June "Run-N-Shoot" Jones still their coach? you bet by the way, that hawaii QB is putting joining the illustrious company of guys like Andre Ware, Tim Rattay, David Klingler and Shaun King
  4. boy, if I ever did an NCAA fantasy league, I think I'd automatically pick whoever is playing QB for Hawai'i. His numbers through 9 games this year: 3,347 yards passing, 39 TDs, 6 INT counting the bowl, he'll probably throw for over 5000 yards and nearly 60 TDs! Insane.
  5. man there were 2 guys open on that play... still this has been a heck of a game
  6. I hope not. Brady is piling up great numbers against turds like UNC. That shouldn't count for much. Who has Troy put his numbers up against? Edit: That was a little rash, I'm just saying that Brady has had 1 terrible game and all the rest good to great, and Troy has had 2 bad games and all the rest good to great. If Troy has 1 more bad game and Brady doesn't, then I think those 3 bad games are worth more than 1 terrible game. And despite 2 bad games, Troy Smith is undefeated, and he had really good games in their hardest matchups (@Texas and @Iowa). Brady Quinn's bad game came in a blowout loss. Unless O$U loses to Michigan, Smith should get it.

  8. hey, ohio state isn't blowing out a lousy illinois team... let's move louisville up to #1

  10. That is completely ridicilous. Louisville has beat up on the likes of Temple, Kansas St, Middle Tenn, Cincinnati, and Syracuse. The only half-way decent teams they've beaten are the vastly over-rated Miami and West Virginia. They would get pounded by any number of teams below them including Texas Tennesse ND Auburn USC The Big East is a joke of a Football Conference. When they play in the title game, if they beat the might Rutgers team, they are going to get crushed. How do you know West Virginia is overrated? The way Michigan has played recently, they don't deserve the #2 ranking. Unless something big changes and changes quickly they are going to get hammered by Ohio State. Maybe, but their schedule includes not-that-difficult road wins over Notre Dame and Penn State, as well as handing Wisconsin their only loss. Meanwhile, Louisville has only played two games that could be considered tough, both of them at home, and they won both. If you're going to tell me that Louisville belongs at #2, then I need evidence that they've earned that ranking. Looking at their schedule, I just can't say they have. Michigan may be playing poorly right now, but they've shown more than Louisville has this year.
  11. holy crap, one of the O-linemen for LSU was born at 15 lbs, 14 oz. Yikes!
  12. yeah fortunately i didn't have that game on my dartboard this week
  13. Uh, anyone want to run into the end zone on a hail mary play? QB got the ball there, but apparently the WRs decided to run 10 yard outs.
  14. first and last time all year that I root for the Cardinals
  15. major injury in the PSU-Wisconsin game... Joe Paterno???
  16. 17. hope he comes back from it as great as he was... it was fun to watch a kid with that much talent
  18. Wow, talk about 4 games that I could give a crap about The Rose Bowl will be good either way. I would love to see either Florida or WVU against ND because they both have good offenses which is ND's weakness. The Orange Bowl would be so/so and that Fiesta Bowl matchup would be bad. The National Title game, which under your situation would be OSU/UM - UL would be entertaining as well. I disagree that ND's weakness is a good offense-I think it is just the opposite. The scary teams to me are the ones with a good defense, because anybody can score a bunch of points on ND. The question is-can the other team slow down ND's offense? The ones that have-GT, Michigan, Michigan State (for 2 1/2 quarters), and UCLA have given ND trouble. With that said, Florida would definitely be a harder game for ND. WVU-ND would be very entertaining, and would probably be much like the game last night (maybe without all the WVU fumbles). MSU most definitely does not have a good defense. They've given up like 80 points to Northwestern and Indiana the past two weeks.
  19. It's like the stupid preseason polls during the season. I'm not saying the Big East is the best but it's just as good as any major conference. I was listening to Mike and Mike and they were saying since Miami and the others left everyone assumes the conference is weak and they just brush it off. It's like we have to wait for 4 to 5 years for them to prove they belong while IMO they already have. This conference has 2 losing teams out of 8 or 75% of the teams in it. No other conference can say that. I think almost everyone else on this board would disagree with this. The Big East is the most underrated of the six major conferences. They're definitely better than the ACC and they're likely better than the Big 12. That puts them 4th out of 6 at the worst. Saying the Big East is 4th out of 6 at worst is very different than saying that the Big East is just as good as any of the other major conferences.
  20. Record of Cincy's wins: 15-27 Their only win over a team that isn't at least 2 games under .500 is conference opponent South Florida(who has yet to beat anybody above .500, 4-4 McNeese St. being the closest), who lost to one of the worst teams in the Big 12, Kansas. But they beat S Florida easily so what's your point? Even though you're considering these teams like Cincy, UConn, South Florida and Syracuse to not be "gimmes," they still haven't beaten any of the top 3 teams: Pitt versus Louisville, WVU and Rutgers: 0-1 USF: 0-1 UConn: 0-2 Cincy: 0-1 Syr: 0-2 That's zero wins and seven losses against the top three teams in the conference. Until some of those teams start beating WV, UL and Rutgers, I have a hard time not considering them pushovers.
  21. That's because the Big East sucks as a football conference. If Penn State were in it they'd be the strongest team in it. Why, because they'd be on the bottom holding all the other teams up in the standings! Yeah I bet. It'd be really tough to run the gauntlet like Rutgers, Pitt and West Virginia have done this year. Let me know when your team crosses the 50 yard line so we can celebrate. 3 losses - @Notre Dame, @Ohio State, home versus Michigan. How many Big East teams don't have three losses if they play all three of those games?

  25. Figgins is also Pierre with about twice as many walks, and a few more runs scored. And a bit more power. I'd take Figgins over Pierre any day. He's a better player, with more versatility. Only problem is we need more run production from our outfield. pierre actually had a better SLG and OPS than figgins last season, though. i'm not saying figgins won't bounce back, but as far as true power last season, pierre was superior. not really. Pierre's SLG was higher because he had a higher BA. Figgins had an IsoP of .109, Pierre's was .096.
