  1. That was superb run by Ronaldo. The guy would be considered such a better player and would be a much popular player around the world if he didn't dive so much. But as it stands now, he's know just as much for his skill with the ball at his foot as he is for his penchant for diving. It was also horrendous marking by Lille as Larson was in the middle of a triangle of Lille defenders all of whom were 5-10 yards away from Larson. yeah, the pass was right on the mark, but no way he should've been that open... at least one guy, maybe two, blew an assignment. Lille wasn't really generating a whole lot anyway.
  2. great run and perfect center by ronaldo... barring a miracle comeback, man u should be through to the quarters
  3. Wieters... I want a polished college hitter and Wieters is as good as it gets in that department. For a high school hitter, I like Josh Vitters a lot too.
  4. No one is throwing more than 3 plus innings yet. It doesnt surprise me that Looper will be decent this year. Typical scrap heap cardinals. Regardless, him pitching well for 2-3 innings at a time doesn't convince me that he'll be a good starter. Let's wait and see how he does throwing 6-7 innings at a time when he's worked up to it.
  5. No. Buehrle was really good up until last year. Vasquez hasn't been really good for a while now.
  6. 2 outings and 6 innings? That's more like relief work than starting.
  7. The 81 HR allowed in 3 years is not a particularly good peripheral. Marquis might consider it good, as it would be an improvement over his last 3 years. Actually it wouldn't be, my math was wrong and Vasquez gave up 91 HR in the past 3 years.
  8. supposedly he was an average to just above average fielder in college... i think he's a good enough athlete that he can improve with the proper coaching (which he probably won't get, since he's in the cubs organization). Still, the comment about hoping that he can stick at 2B makes no sense. If he has no "ball-handling aptitude" - which I assume means that his hands are lousy - then he won't stick at any position except maybe 1B, and he doesn't have enough bat to play there. CF still need to catch and field ground balls, too.

  10. It would be even nicer if Harvey did something significant to deserve a top 10 rating. Once again, Harvey has a tool you can't teach. that tool - having been a top 10 overall pick. If he had been drafted in the 10th round, nobody would give a crap about him.
  11. Pretty solid team considering there are 20 (!!) teams in the league.
  12. PECOTA: 5.44 ERA Bill James: 5.14 CHONE: 5.13 ZIPS: 4.95 I'd say 4.40 is pretty optimistic. I'd love for it to happen, but it's more likely we see a 5-something. Previous to last year he put up ERA's of 4.13 and 3.71 and some other crappy ones. There is reason to believe he could fall inline close to the above numbers this year. no... baseball projections are always dead-on
  13. He just really likes EPatt. He's being semi-sarcastic while hoping at the same time. yeah aside from his immediate family, there's no bigger fan than me... i look forward to being the first one to buy his jersey when he makes the big leagues
  14. Is there sarcasm here that I am missing? not at all... he's hitting .400 and DeRosa is hititng .125. The answer is clear to me. As much as I'd love for Eric to be in Chicago I'm not sure that's going to happen. that's why the cubs haven't won a world series in 100 years

  16. i'd say that e-patt has made the team with his performance today
  17. i'm in... looks like we have 2 more left to sign up
  18. to be fair, you can't blame them for all the good teams bolting frrom CUSA. Cincy, Louisville, DePaul, Marquette, Charlotte and St. Louis all had varying degrees of success in basketball, with the first four obviously being the best historically. And, schools like UTEP, USM, Tulsa and UAB, which have had decent programs in the past, really were nothing to speak about this year. Memphis won the games that it played, which is all they can do, really.
  19. bottom line... there were a LOT of idiots in your fantasy league
  20. some people need to put their homerism aside when doing fantasy sports
