yeah blum has really been a big time clutch hitter... 3-year splits: W/runners on: 220/282/323/605 RISP, 2 outs: 175/244/217/461 Close & late: 185/259/237/496 quit making excuses for ohman... blum is an awful hitter.

He's hardly the whipping boy. Actually, I always get the feeling of fighting the crowd when I advocate Floyd starting over him. It seems like you have more than a few on your side, and maybe there is a reason you are fighting a crowd. People here are ripping his average. His average was .300 at the start of the game. If your average can drop 70 points in 1 day, you have not had enough at bats base any decisions on. Iowa is calling Matt. Do people realize that Matt is hitting nearly .300 right now? He's above league average. LOL. A .500ish OPS is above league average? IT'S 25 ABS!!! That's 1/8 of his AB's last year. It's not THAT small of a size. more like 1/20

No they weren't. Their pitching was bad. Worse than St. Louis for sure. You do know that the best team doesn't always win the World Series, right? I don't subscribe to that school of thought. If you win, you're the best. No whining. who's whining? But a seven game series is a small sample size, and sometimes - just by matter of chance - an inferior game is going to win more games in a seven game spell. If you don't believe me, then consider that the Cubs won 11 of 19 games against the Cardinals last year.

boy, coming into this game the cubs had the fourth highest BABIP in baseball and the third highest BA with RISP. that's disturbing considering how piss-poor the offense has been in about 80% of the game they've played.
