  1. hey, one of the two games that i ever attended at wrigley, the cubs came back from a 1-run deficit with trevor hoffman on the mound
  2. yeah blum has really been a big time clutch hitter... 3-year splits: W/runners on: 220/282/323/605 RISP, 2 outs: 175/244/217/461 Close & late: 185/259/237/496 quit making excuses for ohman... blum is an awful hitter.
  3. great, ward is not going to keep these throws by ARam out of the stands
  4. don't start that nonsense  if the cubs lose, the offense blew the game. Seven innings without a hit? give me a break.
  5. He's hardly the whipping boy. Actually, I always get the feeling of fighting the crowd when I advocate Floyd starting over him. It seems like you have more than a few on your side, and maybe there is a reason you are fighting a crowd. People here are ripping his average. His average was .300 at the start of the game. If your average can drop 70 points in 1 day, you have not had enough at bats base any decisions on. I miss the good old days when we could unite in our hatred of Macias, Neify, or BOOM BOOM Bynum. lets all agree to hate cedeno
  6. i think i'm going to take my nap as soon as the padres score a run
  7. Iowa is calling Matt. Do people realize that Matt is hitting nearly .300 right now? He's above league average. LOL. A .500ish OPS is above league average? IT'S 25 ABS!!! That's 1/8 of his AB's last year. It's not THAT small of a size. more like 1/20
  8. if it makes you feel better, with the amount of chew in his cheek, he's bound to have some sort of mouth cancer by age 40
  9. Iowa is calling Matt. Do people realize that Matt is hitting nearly .300 right now? He's above league average. 'Tis the game thread, where kneejerk reactions and rollercoaster emotions reign. Best to check reason and logic at the door, apparently. in other news, the season is over if the cubs lose here
  10. No, I'm just joking. Calm yourself. You want to have a statistical argument here and piss off everyone else in the thread? Go for it man. No, I don't want to piss off everyone in the thread. I'm not trying to. You are trying to by being stupid. no need for that
  11. No they weren't. Their pitching was bad. Worse than St. Louis for sure. You do know that the best team doesn't always win the World Series, right? I don't subscribe to that school of thought. If you win, you're the best. No whining. who's whining? But a seven game series is a small sample size, and sometimes - just by matter of chance - an inferior game is going to win more games in a seven game spell. If you don't believe me, then consider that the Cubs won 11 of 19 games against the Cardinals last year.
  12. No they weren't. Their pitching was bad. Worse than St. Louis for sure. You do know that the best team doesn't always win the World Series, right? no way!
  13. the dads have a really good pen, but that's still pretty sad.
  14. The 2006 Cardinals were not a fluke. lowest amount of wins for a world series winning team... that's not a fluke?
  15. boy, coming into this game the cubs had the fourth highest BABIP in baseball and the third highest BA with RISP. that's disturbing considering how piss-poor the offense has been in about 80% of the game they've played.
  16. what the hell, there's no link to how your team is doing any more
