I agree, but this has a whole lot to do with Scherzer and Strasburg. they're obviously very good, but they had ERAs in the mid 2s this season, it's not like they were flirting with no hitters and striking out 10+ batters every game.

Taylor has hit pretty well this series. Their best hitter right now. also balls carry a lot farther this year for some reason that has absolutely nothing to do with major league baseball changing the way that the ball is made.

Pulling Lester with 2 outs and a runner on first, not pulling Carl until 2 batters after it was clear he was bad Carl, letting his closer pitch to 2 extra batters in a 5 run game with Game 5 in 24 hours probably a lot of that is kind of small stuff. when your best middle reliever completely loses it and nobody on your team can hit good pitching, you're going to struggle. i'm pretty annoyed that dusty is probably sitting in the dugout thinking he's some kind of genius for pretending that roark was ever going to start this game.

What a stupid quote. Yeah, if the Dodgers and their $250 million payroll had finished 85-77 or whatever, and missed the playoffs by a game because they had a bunch of hard hit balls find gloves and a bunch of bloops by opposing teams fall in during their last game, they could claim to be unlucky, but the point is that it never should have come down to luck in a single game against a vastly inferior opponent.

thanks for pointing out the silver lining to this dark cloud, I actually feel a bit better. We also lose out on Trump going to Russia in the summer of 2018. Not sure this is a good thing though. One fewer bed to be ruined in a Moscow hotel room.
