  1. i kind of knew they'd end up scoring one run after taylor hit the home run in the 8th inning.
  2. underwood, rosario, bass, wilson, hancock... exactly the pitching we were looking forward to seeing in june when spring training ended.
  3. the lousy pitching against the reds is one thing, with so much of the bullpen hurt and chatwood unavailable, but the offense being this lousy is pretty maddening since there haven't been that many injuries.
  4. [tweet]https://twitter.com/byjoebuettner/status/1009844776399769600[/tweet] It’s just so beautiful =D>
  5. if they lose to japan they’re an underdog to even advance. they still have Poland, who’s good, and Senegal, who’s also pretty good. That dude who got red carded is just a massive goat.
  6. Real good decision there from the Colombian player, handball in the box in the third minute.

  8. i'm still angry at the home plate ump. deport him to the hague.
  9. i thought that a wild pitch bouncing around wildly and scoring two runs was a greater probability than a walk off grand slam off a lefty.

  11. this mazzoni dude might have the worst major league stats i've ever seen. like orders of magnitude worse than micah bowie as a cub bad.
  12. while we're ranting, now that gleyber torres is in the major leagues and playing well, it would be especially nice if russell would pull his thumb out of his ass and become a good hitter again.
  13. on the bright side, we will be out from underneath his contract in (checks notes) 2024.
  14. and so ended the cub career of luke farrell.
  15. jeez they must have a starter who can hit better than miles mikolas.
  16. well, at least farrell is facing the absolute dregs of the cards' lineup.... can't give him a better chance of getting through an inning than this.
  17. i liked villanueva and thought he could be a decent starter (solid glove, hit for reasonable average) but i really didn't think he'd hit for much power. maybe like 15-20 homers annually.
  18. can't wait until heyward's 7th year of the contract and i'm still holding out some sliver of hope that he's figured out how to hit better than a backup catcher.
