  1. well we're going to lose the game, but at least we will win the LOB battle!
  2. so he has to win a world series and the reason he hasn't so far is because he trades his prospects that failed to win him a world series? he's only averaged about 93 wins and a playoff appearance every other year... boy i'd hate that
  3. in somewhat related news, soto is up to a .947 OPS now
  4. good post. I'm okay with him in Iowa for this year if DeRosa is at second, but if DeRosa has to play third for an extended period of time (i.e., ARam's injury is worse than expected), then I think Patterson could outproduce Theriot without much trouble.
  5. after tonight i'm an even bigger fan of this guy :D
  6. soto singles in patterson with the bases loaded in the 11th! i-cobs win 4-3... what a game!
  7. the losing pitcher for the Chattanooga Lookouts was C. Guevara... hmmm
  8. one-run win? miracles do happen! now it's time to root on the i-cobs to victory in extras... heading to the bottom of the 10th.
  9. Iowa is having a great year considering alot of the players are with the Cubs. i'd crap myself if something like that happened to the big club.
  10. Iowa scores three with two outs in the ninth to tie it!!! Two-run bomb by Soto :D :D :D
  11. holy crap, iowa down three and down to their last out, hoffpauir singles in patterson and then soto hits a two-run bomb. He's been amazing this year.
  12. for the cubs, "keep us in the ballgame" = "don't give up more than three runs, or we're boned"
  13. next three guys are only 1-11 against Marshall this game, but him against Sexson would be scary.
  14. 10 LOBs for cobs, 2 for the mariners, and it's a one-run game... pathetic
  15. ahahaha the pitcher draws an eleven pitch walk and then the leadoff hitter swings at a junkball and grounds into a double play. Love that our pitcher has better discipline than our $138 million man.
  16. well, the singles soundtrack was really good it's obvious that bob has no idea what len is talking about
  17. you cant assume the same things would've happened... right, but when the leadoff runner gets on base, the average number of runs scored in an inning goes from .461 to .813 (76% higher). Plus coming up are the best hitters in the lineup. When there are one or two outs, maybe it's more imperative to get a runner on second so he can score on a single. But Pie getting out there made it significantly less likely that the Cubs would put runs on the board that inning. The potential reward doesn't outweigh the risk.
  18. does anybody actually think a hit is coming here?
  19. what a shock, cubs run their way out of what would've been another run... more fine managerial work
