  1. The ball came right at his back and was coming at about 62 mph tops. There's no reason he should move. except for the umpire isn't supposed to award a batter the base if he makes no effort to avoid the pitch.
  2. cliff floyd would move faster in a motorized wheelchair walk on a postage stamp strike zone, ground ball single, HBP on a batter that didn't try to move, bloop single... what a bunch of crap
  3. not a good sign that froemming can't seem to call a curve for a strike
  4. i already have a feeling i'm going to be very angry at froemming during this game
  5. Cedeno has only played 41 games though, which is barely half of Iowa's total. Apparently Rottino was chosen as starter, and then the other guy from Tucson became the backup. Still, Soto got boned.
  6. Soto got boned... he easily has better numbers than the second catcher on the PCL team: Rottino: 297/368/473/841, 12 2B, 3 3B, 7 HR, 40 R, 30 RBI, 11 SB, 6 CS Soto: 320/390/555/945, 17 2B, 10 HR, 29 R, 47 RBI, 0 SB, 0 CS
  7. no, that's all gone... hope he didn't waste all the money the pads gave him
  8. No need to bump the thread, but... Prepare to be surprised. Not saying I agree with it, I vehemently don't, but everyone places him that high.
  9. my team buh-lows
  10. If Dopirak doesn't learn how to take a walk, he'll never be a legitimate prospect. Leon Johnson seems to be enjoying Mesa so far.
  11. how on earth in a 12 team league does someone have santana, peavy and crawford? Especially Santana and Crawford... Santana should have gone in the top 5, and Crawford shouldn't make it past 12.
  12. if we're playing all time, I go: Ruth Teddy Ballgame Mays Wagner Walter Johnson
  13. Short term, sure. Young's the one who could end up a superstar, though. but since billy king drafted him, he won't
  14. can't wait to watch thornton become a solid 12/9 guy out west while thaddeus sits on the bench with all his unrealized potential.
  15. thaddeus young? meh. could've been worse though (josh mcroberts)
  16. let's hope that the AAAA all-star team of Hill and Fontenot can lead the cubs to victory!
  17. Pujols Cabrera Santana Hanley Ramirez Eric Patterson
  18. snood's body paint story is still earning him my vote
  19. You're probably right... it's hard to hit ground balls over the fence :P
  20. willingness to give the kids a chance, plus the awareness that sometimes pitchers get tired and should be removed from the game (starters) or given a day off (relievers), are the two things I like most about Lou. Or I guess I should say, like about Lou over Dusty Baker.
