  1. great discipline there fonsie... cubs couldn't score 5 off this guy if they had a week to do it
  2. good for his dumps. too bad he hasn't thrown any baseballs with more talent than rich hill yet. Oh yeah I would much rather have Rich Hill than Felix. I really wish Rich Hill was close to the pitcher you think he is. sorry, i thought you valued pitchers on whether they had completed a full year of good pitching. I do, but I also defer to age. When you haven't had a good year at 20, it's because you are young and getting established. When you haven't had one at age 28 it's because you couldn't beat out Glendon Rusch to get a big league spot. wow, is this Dusty Baker???
  3. that's just flat not true. if he had nothing, they'd be hitting the balls all over the field...which they're not doing. take your sweet time, aramis. And if he had something, they would be missing more pitches. You can't tell me the high rate of foul balls has nothing to do with the lack of stuff/command he has today. it doesn't. Kerry Wood always gave up a lot of foul balls, is that because his stuff wasn't very good?

  5. good for his dumps. too bad he hasn't thrown any baseballs with more talent than rich hill yet. 97 ERA+ the last two years... that's amazing, call cooperstown and reserve a spot right now
  6. i've honestly never seen this many foul balls in my life
  7. might want to swing before the ball is in the catcher's mitt, felix
  8. to be fair, the cubs don't know how to take pitches against anyone
  9. If the Cubs listened to this board, Hill would've already been traded a year ago.
  10. Theyre hitting fould balls because Rich's stuff just aint that good today. actually, if his stuff was really bad he'd be getting lined all over the park. Opposing hitters making weak contact and fouling balls back isn't indicative of a pitcher who doesn't have anything. Are you actually watching the game? Honestly. He is either leaving everything over the heart of the plate or missing by 2 feet. His breaking ball hasn't been very sharp and it's the reason they keep getting a bat on it. no i'm not watching it, i'm completely ignorant about what is going on
  11. No you're right, I'm not a real Cubs fan because I'm not losing my mind right now.

  13. he is. were you saying this back in april when zambrano sucked? for crying out loud they both have sucked this year at times. Zambrano earlier, Hill today. and looking at the first half as a whole, hill has been better. Who cares. He sucks today. Why are you defending him, like always, when he's absolutely killing our chances to win? maybe because some people are able to look at the season as a whole, rather than overreact to one poor outing.
  14. he is. were you saying this back in april when zambrano sucked? Yes, because one month is just that. Z has what, 70 wins in his career more than Hill? Oh and he is younger to boot. At no point in his career will Rich HIll be a better pitcher than Z. Here in about another month this season won't even be close. guess the second half of last year doesn't count either? Ok, you guys are right. Rich Hill is better than Carlos Zambrano. Lol. So Rich Hill has what kind of numbers for the second half last year plus this year? Compare them with an average Zambrano year. Oh look another walk. Rich Hill has been better than Zambrano for a calendar year.... sort of argues against your idiotic statement that he'll never be a better pitcher than Zambrano at any point in his career.
  15. hit a ball fair or strike out... these foul balls are ridiculous

  17. if rich gives up a run this inning, i say send him to iowa and see what walrond can do Memo to fans - when Lee hits a ball in the air, it's not going over the fence.
  18. Cause he hung a pitch and the batter hit it hard? Seriously you are comical with your excuses for Hill. I bet if Marquis had this same crap performance you would be saying alot of different stuff what's comical is how everyone buries rich hill when he's been the team's best starter this year. I'll take a guy with a top 10 WHIP in baseball. He's not having a great game today, but the overreaction in this thread is a lot funnier than anything I've written.
  19. well considering he's been a better pitcher this year...
  20. The excuses you make for Hill are hilarious man, please keep it up. Let me guess it was somebody elses fault Rich gave up a HR too I'll take him over anyone else in this rotation.
