  1. soto can't be worse than the two losers we have at catcher these days.
  2. ah good, i thought we were giving up (i.e., putting in Eyre)
  3. let me know when murton can play centerfield How about now? I've got no problem at all with him in CF as an experiment. It literally can't be as bad as having our CF go 7 for 48. Murton's offense is his value. Or how about we put Soriano back in CF and play Matt at his position? Murton would be a joke in CF. And as you've already said, the Cubs aren't going anywhere this year - being as that's the case, there's no reason not to keep Pie with the big club and let him learn against big league pitching. What they should do, though, is call up Murton, play him in RF and have Floyd sit more.
  4. brenly thinks fontenot is hot and smooth... that sounds bad.
  5. We had that play in High School. Especially summer ball when the umps couldn't give two sh*ts. Midway through wind-up catcher would complain about dirt in his contact and then fall away from the batter, leaving the ump wide open. Only got him in the chest protector or mask. Never the neck. cubs should give this to 300 lb froemming as a retirement present
  6. if another cub gets called out on a pitch like the one that Pie watched, Lou needs to get tossed. Froemming has been crap this game.
  7. unbelieveable... this fat sack of crap can't retire fast enough. What a joke.
  8. well 2 runs is enough, time for the offense to mail it in
  9. If anyone could explain what the hell was wrong with him besides just being insane, I'll give them a million dollars. I don't want anyone to get defensive...I'm just asking questions. sometimes good pitchers just go into slumps. Batters do the same thing. I'm not sure why everyone assumes that a pitcher is hurt or mentally weak just because he has a string of poor starts.
  10. No he's been pretty solid and I don't think he's showing any signs of injury. I'm just more concerned with the fact that when he doesn't have good command of his breaking ball or it isn't extremely sharp, he has nothing to fall back on. You do realize his start before the last is when SD took batting practice off him right? Yeah but his 5 starts surrounding that one were solid. Nobody can ignore that...I'm just worried that since his struggling seems to be in consecutive starts that there might be some unusual pain or discomfort going on. I'm not trying to pick further fights, just thinking out loud... much like zambrano was hurt earlier this year...
  11. exactly what he said... nice work Yes that is what he said, look back it has been bolded about three times. i see you conveniently ignored the word "nearly" in abuck's post
