  1. that was like the amazing catch he had with the angels, except he is old and slow now
  2. i'm pretty sure that floyd has a 0% chance of hitting any pitcher who can consistently paint the outside corner. He stands closer to the on-deck circle than he does to home plate.
  3. No rules against it, but the Cubs could just take the walks until they got a safe lead, and then swing at every pitch even if it was 5 feet outside in order to strike out and end the inning. and then the cardinals miss the 3rd strike on purpose so it goes to the backstop. Then the Cubs' batter doesn't run to first base, and Molina doesn't go back to retrieve the ball. It'd be hilarious.
  4. well that's one way to get the inning over with quickly
  5. what would happen if the cards just started intentionally walking everyone until the rain began? that'd be extremely unethical, but are there rules against that?
  6. yeah plus the cubs hitting 2 home runs and ted lilly hitting a double... i must still be asleep and dreaming.
  7. what? he's a card fan. So that allows him to outwardly cheer for the Cards in a Cubs game thread? when the cubs are beating the crap out of the cards, he can stay here as long as he wants
  8. soriano missed a big hanger on the first 3-2 offering
  9. another stupid-looking cardinal pitcher
  10. when you're getting hammered by jock jones, jason kendall and ted lilly, it's pretty safe to say that you don't have it today
  11. hopefully this is joel pineiro remembering that he's joel pineiro
  12. yes, keep hitting balls over the outfield fence plz
  13. funny how guys like rich hill and sean marshall always have to worry about being on a short leash, yet we never hear the same thing about cliff floyd, jason kendall or jason marquis. Must be nice to be a proven veteran.
  14. i'd be very disappointed if ankiel isn't being heckled unmercifully by the RF bleachers
  15. wait what's this now? Brenly said he was sure that Trachsel, Marshall and Rich Hill are all on a short leesh. let trachsel off the leash, hopefully he'll run away into the woods. but yeah, if the cubs have a better option than rich hill, i sure haven't seen him.
  16. It sure as heck would start a chain reaction of coaches leaving for better jobs. well, except for the part where Les Miles leaves LSU for an inferior job
  17. I'm afraid that won't happen until next year. i'm afraid that won't happen next year either
  18. holy crap cliff floyd actually did something good
  19. at this point just release a list of the 5 or 10 guys in the game who aren't cheating
  20. 10-2-1 on my ATS picks so far this year... i really need to open up an account somewhere
  21. considering he's consistently been one of the best RBs in football during the last 5 years, and is on his way to Canton, I think he's allowed to have one down game against a very stout defense.
