The 2025 MLB Draft will again feature just 20 rounds, but there has been a format change. After downsizing from a two-day, 40-round draft to a three-day, 20-round draft, Major League Baseball has now gone to a two-day, 20-round draft.

The first three rounds (which is a round longer than before) will happen later today, beginning at 5 p.m. You can catch it live on MLB Network and ESPN. The Destination: The Show crew would like to invite you to join us live as we cover the entirety of the first three rounds

The last 17 rounds will take place tomorrow beginning at 10:30 a.m. There hasn't been a 17-round draft day in a while, but rest assured — there used to be 20-round days, so North Side Baseball will have the capacity to cover the duration.

The Cubs will make three selections on Day One.

    17th overall (1st round)

    56th overall (2nd round)

    90th overall (3rd round)

The Cubs will have the 9th-smallest bonus pool ($9,636,800) in baseball. Of course, they have exceeded their pool and gone into the tax every year since the current rules were put in place.

Once again, North Side Baseball will feature the Cubs Draft Tracker, which will be kept up-to-date not only during the draft but through the entire signing period. So keep coming back for updates!

I would accept Houston or Summerhill as I think you can make arguments for them. Not my favorites, but I could probably get on board if the Cubs took 'em.

Kilen has ugly batted ball data and didn't have a broken hand, and isn't going to stick at SS like Houston. SFG can 'ave 'em.

I’m in the same boat, although I like Summerhl better than the other two

We're down to the 1 hour or so I pay attention to this a year. Who should I be rooting to fall?

Kyson Witherspoon is the player I think we should root for to make it to 17. There's some really great under the hood stuff there. I think Tampa is a great org and will notice this, and my guess is he will go 1:14. But, he'd be the guy I'd really be hoping for,

I don’t think Irish is going to make it past Boston. But if he’s around when the Cubs pick….

Ike Irish sliding a bit. I'm not super infatuated with him, but he's probably the biggest surprise to be there at 17 if he's still around.

I have now looked up his K and BB rate and that sounds good to me.

Both Boston and Minnesota could nab him. Good orgs.

I think if Witherspoon makes it to the Cubs they snatch him and reevaluate their draft. I think right now their plan is "underslot". But maybe I like Kyson more than they do regardless.

Would be the first Kyson in the MLB, right? Almost a gauranteed record breaker then.

Someone tell Harold that there is no chance Skenes is still in Pittsburgh in four years.

I miss this being audio only and 10 seconds between picks because someone had to announce who was next on the clock.

Conrad's solid (potentially very solid depending on his cap hit), but I would have definitely preferred Wood

Nah. Let that be another thing he got wrong.

I'm not even sure there's much if any savings here so I don't really get it. Like he's not bad but he's very bland unless he can stick in CF.
