Jack McKeon has relinquished his position as manager and will take a front office job with the Marlins.

Link.

McKeon's resignation had been expected, and he confirmed it to the team in the clubhouse before the game.

"He got very emotional when he told us, like your granddad is going away and you're not going to see him anymore," veteran Jeff Conine said. "It's tough for him. Baseball is his life."

I would not be surprised to see the Marlins hire my favorite managerial candidate, Fredi Gonzalez. He'd be an excellent hire.

Isn't it just like the Cubs to let the best candidate get hired or signed by another team while they wait for the contract to expire? Sosa, A.Gonzalez and Baker. Yeah, they traded Sosa 1 year before but traded him way too late. Hendry has to get creative and make the right move and not sit and wait. This team will always be a step behind.....always.
