Scott Taylor had a rough first outing at Boise, giving up 5 in the first before recovering for two more scoreless innings. His final line is: 3 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 2/2.

Haha, Scott's girlfriend's younger sister (11-years old) just e-mailed the booth saying, "it was cool to watch Scott pitch."

Tri-City leads it 6-5 in the 5th.

Wow, Aardsma is really struggling lately. Runners on the corners, 2 outs, 7-7 game in the 8th

Aardsma keeps it a tie game, to the 9th

Jose Ortiz struggling on the mound here for Boise and his night is done. Ryan Chambers will be coming in now. Ortiz gave up one run in the 6th on a Mark Reed passed ball. It's 8-7, Boise, still in the top of the 6th.

Chambers surrenders a game-tying single.

In the top fo the 9th, Roger Evenson comes in with one out and the go-ahead run at first and throws 6 straight cutters to get 2 Ks and get Boise out of the jam. The Boise announcer is going nuts, "DOES EVENSON GO SIX IN A ROW WITH THE PITCH THAT MADE MARIANO RIVERA FAMOUS? HE DOES AND GETS THE STRIKEOUT! CUTTER CUTTER CUTTER CUTTER CUTTER CUTTER!!"

To the bottom of the 9th, tied at 8.

Johnny Defendis, representing the winning-run, leads off with a 4-pitch walk, takes second on a passed ball, and takes third on another passed ball. Jesus Valdez walks, still none out. Kyle Reynolds chops a single over the drawn-in IF to win the game!!

Boise wins, 9-8. Evenson gets the win.

yep he earned it. plus he was on a 100 pitch count and Larsen fouled off 4 pitches in the last at-bat and Aselton finished at 101 pitches.

Of course it helped that we are 0-11 with RISP tonight and 2-29 in the series (OUCH)

Ouch, indeed!

Chiefs lose 7-2. The loss + Quad Cities' win eliminates the Chiefs from the divisional race. Kane County lost tonight, but the next Kane County win or Peoria loss will eliminate the Chiefs from the wild card.

The Chiefs scored two runs in the 9th on back-to-back sac flies by Simokaitis and Smith to avoid being shutout. Grant Johnson is charged with 5R/2ER in 5IPs ... the error that was charged to Larsen happened while I was listening, but wasn't charged immediately; Nathan sounded definite that it was an error, so it's good to see that it was eventually scored that way. Per Nathan: the Chiefs have not scored a run in either of Grant Johnson's last two starts when Johnson is still in the game, losing by a combined 15-2.

Francisco with 7Ks (and 2 ERs) in 3IPs. Steve Harris is 4-for-17 (.235) since being promoted from Mesa, but all 4 hits have been XBH (3 doubles and a HR).
