it's time to realize

we are simply not a very good team. we are not as good as milwaukee...at best we are basically the same. we are just barely better than cincy. our records are really close, as are our records against them(6-7,5-4).tough to make an argument for being better! we are consistently beaten by the good teams of the east and west. we are above .500 vs the central and the bottom 3 teams of the west. and 10 under vs everyone else. if we were still in the east we would be 10 or more games below .500 easily.

Whether or not the Cubs are a good team, or they're playing like a good team are totally different.

 

There's alot of talent on this Cubs team. It's just a question of whether or not it will all come together before it's too late.

 

I have my doubts too. They make a lot of boneheaded plays and Dusty just doesn't seem to know how to handle the club in different game situations.

 

We'll see how it all works out.

We've become spoiled in the last few years by the NLCS in '02 and playoff-push runs the last couple years... this year is just your basic 1990's Chicago Cubs team ( minus the WC in '98 ).

The thing I fail to understand is why if we are not a very good team aren't we more like Houston, Washington, and Philadelphia in the home road splits? Houston, Washington, and Philadelphia all get it done at home, while have under .500 road records.

 

The Cubs are 1 game above .500 at home, and 1 game below .500 on the road. The Cubs just need to learn to get it done at home. As I always hear Santo say "win 2 of 3 at home, and stay at .500 on the road." We are obviously doing part of that right.
