... About when Nomar gets back and being pushed to play Cedeno, I believe he stated what was he supposed to do take Neifi out, he's saved us.

First let me say I hope this isn't a rehash of an old topic.

Now I know I am preaching to the choir here, but I can't believe the media doesn't rip him on this. What exactly did he save us from? We are only a few games over .500, and while we are relatively close in the wild card it isn't a sure bet either.

Also he "saved" us for all of one month, April, where he hit .360 w/ a .400 obp. He wasn't the only one hitting well that month, and ever since April he has had a sub .300 obp.

It appears the only thing Neifi has saved the Cubs from is Dusty having to play a rookie.

Scariest Dusty related quote of the day for me was:

HIS OWN MAN: When the time comes to renegotiate with the Cubs next year, whether before or after the season, Baker said he might not hire an agent.

Maybe he figures the 10 percent or so he would have to pay an agent he could just hand over to the IRS. :wishes:

And in Dusty's mind, that might be a rather significant thing he's been saved from doing.

I don't doubt that one bit, but why hasn't any one else asked what exactly Neifi saved us from and when?

It doesn't take much negotiating skills to say, "Goodbye".
