This is what my friend relayed to me. Tim Kurkjian reported it.

-Rangers will not trade Soriano unless they are overwhelmed with an offer.

-0% chance Burnett will be traded.

-100% chance Matt Lawton will be dealt, and the Cubs and Cardinals were mentioned.

-Most likely OF to be traded by the Reds is Adam Dunn, but more than likely none of them will be moved.

Did he say who said it? Gammons? Stark? Olney?

Gammons has said not to expect a trade there, so it looks pretty likely at this point.

I wish I had a dollar for everytime that was said on here. its gotta be right up there with references to Dusty's 'you can't walk across homeplate' and 'white people can't handle the sun' on the tired scale.

I suppose you all heard Hendry on the Cubs game about the 3rd inning and he sure didn't sound like he has anything cooking. It was all about getting Wood, Nomar, and Williamson to the Cubs on Friday. That will be a pretty amazing day, take it like we trade for the 3 of them on Friday.

If Hendry has anything cooking, he sure didn't let on during the game. Something can always heat up, but at this moment, after hearing Jim Hendry on the telecast, I would say the Cubs won't be doing much if anything before tomorrow. They are just looking foward to getting the 3 guys back and making a run with a healthy club.

It wouldn't help Hendry to tip his hand either way. He's right in going with the 'underpromise and overdeliver' philosophy.

Yea, we heard pretty much the same spiel this time last year...

Doesn't really matter, they've had every single senior writer on there all day repeating the exact same thing.
