Maybe so. The Red will posess more challenges for our starting pitching.

 

But the bottom line though is, they're doing pretty much exactly what they should have done in the first half of the season.

 

Yes the ERA's will be higher against the Reds, but we should be able to score at will against their JV pitching staff.

 

Which is what worries me.

 

Hey guys....I went to Thursday's and Friday's games. The Pirates do suck. I think that they're just terrible. No depth, and not much offencive punch at all.

 

If they hadn't gotten the fantastic outing from that Duke kid on Saturday, they would have been swept. That guy had a great curve. I actually think he prepped them for Wells. Wells had a decent curve, but he started hanging them a bit, and the Cubs figured it out pretty quickly.

 

The Cubbies HAVE to take the series in Cincy, and really, they need to take two of three in Saint Louis. It won't happen, but hey, I can dream.

 

Realistically, three of four in Cincy, and one win in Saint Louis is an achievable goal, IMO.
