Speaking of bets, Soul, are we on for our little bet? We need to pick what categories between the Houston and Cubs starting pitching we need to compare? And I will enjoy rubbing my victory in your face. :)

Sure. Are we going with the big 3 from each team or the entire starting staff?

Probably easier to go with the whole staff, though our argument was really over just the big 3....

Up to you.

It'd be easier to go with the whole staff. It allows for injury too.

We could do both, too - I don't mind compiling those stats. :)

It's halfway through the campaign, Cali. And you're looking pretty rough:

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/aggregate?statType=pitching&group=9&seasonType=2&type=type1&sort=ERA&split=0&season=2005

Cubs' team ERA: 4.37

Astros team ERA: 3.88

It would take one hell of a miracle for the Cubbies to make up that margin in the 2nd half. Not impossible--but with Oswalt & Clemens dealing diamonds (as the Soulster said they would), and with Woody & Prior struggling to return from injuries (*ALSO* as the Soulster predicted), it's looking very much like crash n' burn for ol' CaliforniaRaisin 8)

Please don't resurrect a huge old thread for one item. Start a new thread and link back to the old post if necessary. Thanks.
