Iowa hasn't played since the demotions. The weekend series in New Orleans was postponed due to Dennis the Menace, and the next few days are off due to the All-Star break (the AAA All-Star Game is Wednesday, I believe). Both Patterson and Dubois are going to spend a few days in Mesa working on hitting, then report to Iowa when the season resumes.

Neither of them have played yet, Mesa had the day off yesterday. I assume Corey and Jason will be in Mesa's lineup today.

I don't expect either to play in any Mesa games before going to Iowa. They're in Mesa for instruction and BP.

I heard somewhere- can't remember where- that they would probably get to Iowa thurday. I don't know if that's official or anything though.

That's what I read too. They were going to Mesa to work on hitting while Iowa was off (due to the hurricane followed by the All-Star break), but were scheduled to report to Iowa when the season resumes tomorrow.

Ok, that makes sense.

Iowa starter Todd Wellemeyer (left) held the Omaha Royals to four hits over six scoreless innings to lead the Iowa Cubs past the Royals 7-4 Thursday night at Principal Park. Corey Patterson homered for the Cubs in his first game since being optioned to Iowa last week, and Jason Dubois, who was also sent to Iowa last week added three hits in his first Iowa start. Wellemeyer improved to 1-2 with the win, while closer Jermaine Van Buren notched his 13th save of the year.

That's good news. Am I the only one that thinks Jason is just more comfortable in AAA? He's going to be a great big leaguer one day, but he seems to struggle under pressure up in the bigs. He thrives on it down in the minors.
