With Lee's injured shoulder and the need for another bat on the bench, should Scott McClain be considered as a bench guy? He could provide some more righty pop, and give both ARam and Lee blows as necessary. He is a journeyman who is hitting in the .280's for Iowa with 18 homers. He wouldn't be blocking anyone and nobody would care if he rots on the bench.

Just a thought so Lee's shoulder doesn't like like shaved roast beef before September.

At this point, I'm not apprehensive about releasing half the bench and calling up AAA guys. Our bench is beyond bad.

I think McClain would be a fine option, and wouldn't mind giving him a shot to be a late inning PH or occasional spot starter.

I potentially have some stuff set up with AAA as early as tonight. That question may be worth asking.

Hell, with 18 homers at Iowa lets get him in the starting lineup, can he play LF

Seriously though, I always liked Die Hard, he seemed like a nice guy, and if we need a guy for a few weeks to give DLee some rest (not like it matters much right now with the way we're tanking) give it to him. Hell, i'd prefer we put Die Hard on the bench and send Ronny back down if Dusty the idiot isn't going to give him any playing time...
