I've been slow to move off of this but I don't think there's much of a good argument for Caissie > Long at this point

After battling various injuries for two years, LHP Ethan Flanagan (Cubs 2023 17th round draft pick - UCLA) made his pro game debut (finally!!!) last night), getting the start for the ACL Cubs:

3.0 IP, 4 H, 3 R (3 ER), 1 BB, 6 K (4 swinging), 0/2 GO/AO
51 pitches (9/27/15) - 36 strikes (7 swing & miss)

FB: 89-92
SL/CT: 84-85
CH: 80-82
SWEEP: 78-81
CV: 73-76

He has an over-the-top delivery, and does not induce much chase with any of his pitches because he is a strike-thrower, but he does get swing & miss with pitches in the strike zone (especially the FB & CV combo).

He throws the FB up in the zone, but rarely throws the FB twice in a row. All of his FB swing & miss came after throwing a CV on the previous pitch. The CV is his go-to pitch, a slow knee-buckling breaking ball that he can drop into the strike zone repeatedly at will. The other secondaries are still somewhat “works in progress.”

This is the first time I have seen Flanagan throw in a game of any kind ("official" or “unofficial”).
