Lot more interesting guys in the box. I limited the quote to high bonus/top 10 round picks/teenagers traded for Yu Darvish.

Arizona Phil confirmed the Cubs will have only 1 team in the newly-named Arizona Complex Leauge.

Wow, that's a loaded catchers group in the DSL. Both sets of high bonus signees, Ronnier Quintero & Brayan Altuve from 2020 and Cristian Hernandez & Moises Ballesteros from this year, are currently listed on the Dominican Roster. Quintero was at instructs this off season and had previously been listed on the Mesa roster prior to this latest update.

I figure there’ll be a few more navigating to Arizona. Hopefully Cristian is one of them.

I would have been pretty disappointed if Quintero wasn't in the ACL. I share the hope of Hernandez starting there, but given his age and all the Covid fallout, I can understand if they keep him in the DSL.

Thank God. That makes more sense. I know AZ Phil mentioned the Cubs would only be fielding one ACL team, but I couldn't for the life of me understand why that would mean Quintero would play in the DSL especially after already having been stateside for several months. However, with just one Mesa team, I expect Hernandez will play in the DSL. Howard's injury didn't seem very severe. He's already missed 3 weeks. When he comes back, Made (who hasn't been lighting up Low-A) will likely return to Mesa. With Made and Pinango both in Mesa, it might be a little crowded if Hernandez was there as well.

Has AZ Phil said anything about the number of DSL teams the Cubs will roster?

Did you mean Santana, not Piñango?

BA mentioned yesterday the Cubs will have 2 DSL teams (there will be two orgs with no DSL squads).

Sorry, I mean Preciado. If both Made and Preciado are in Mesa, it seems unlikely to me that Hernandez would be there as well.

And thanks for the DSL info.
