Weird. This seems to imply the Angels are out on Bauer? Mets can't really fit him either...so is he going to the Jays too? Or the Dodgers?

 

Good for Q though. In a vacuum I like him on this deal, but our rotation already has 3 finesse guys so he's probably not the best fit.

It's a one year deal, seems to be more insurance in case Heaney/Canning break down and Ohtani is toast. I still think they're a landing spot for Bauer.

Angels are ~$23M under the luxury tax. That's not enough for Bauer. We don't know that they're for sure using the tax line as a cap but they've never crossed it before.

 

Just a generally weird last week for them. They seemed primed for one more big splash, and then did Quintana and Kurt Suzuki. Maybe they've got a trade lined up?
