Musgrove was one of only 3 players on the Pirates to project north of 2 WAR. Also kind of have to wonder if Dinelson Lamer is still hurt.

Honestly don't see why anyone in the NL Central should try to do anything if MLB is gonna keep the dumb expanded playoffs. The fanbase is gonna celebrate "playoffs!" no matter how they get there, just have to look at the Bears.

I'm still holding out for the hope that we play the same kind of schedule as last year. We might still look pretty good against the NL Central and AL Central teams with the exception of the Twins and WS. If we have to play against "real" ML teams, it's going to be pretty ugly.

Nah, Musgrove is a way better with a high ceiling in general. Lucchesi's competent enough and will help the Mets fill innings during the regular season, but if they make the playoffs he's not starting. The Padres have way more interesting lefties down their depth chart with Morejon and Gore
