This has been a depressing year but If, and a big if, the front office can make some tough and good decisions this offseason, I don’t think this team is dead in the water going forward. I just wish we were in a division that the team that won it didn’t decide to be good the last 40 games. We had some pieces we could have jettisoned for value.

Some of you are so unbearable. We won a horsefeathering World Series 3 years ago and have won 90+ and made the playoffs 4 straight years. Even this rock-bottom season provided 6 months of entertainment and we were in the race until the final week of the season. Sometimes teams underachieve. It happens. Get over it.

True, but it’s a bit different when the team has largely underachieved since the WS, and mostly due to the offense going completely dead for long stretches. There’s some alarming patterns that can’t be just brushed away with “we’ll get em next year.”

 

That’s not mentioning some horrible FA signings that have quite literally hamstrung the team from upgrading the roster.
