Jared Young really likes hitting off of the Braves top pitching prospects. Hit a 1st inning HR off Ian Anderson in the season opener and another one today off of Joey Wentz. Lefty against lefty.

Good start for Jared Young. I saw some of his AB's in spring training and he has a good swing. Dude needs to hit the weight room. He seemed super skinny to me, but I guess he has solid power.

Young and Giambrone impressed me the most in ST (among our hitting prospects).

Eury Ramos had an interesting start, he of the mid-90s FB but not much else at this point. He shut down West Michigan thru the first 4 innings, giving up only a bunt single with 2 walks and 3 Ks. Did he tire in the 5th this early in the season? Maybe, who knows. No velocities were given.

He didn't look dominate out there. FB has velocity but looks pretty straight. He rarely showed an average-looking curve and an equally rare change up that is clearly a work in progress. He's 21, 6'3" and thin, but not as wiry thin as his listed 152 lbs. suggests (Looks more like 170ish). He seems like a long shot with a lot of development left.

Nelson Velazquez played CF today and picked up a couple hits. He’s K’d once so far in 12 PAs

Yeah, he looked good out there today. Physically and tools wise, he reminds me of Jeffrey Baez. Let's hope he can put it together faster and more completely than he did.

We've seen Hatch and Abbott put together 2 good performances thus far for Tennessee, with Hatch's being far more dominant. Keegan Thompson is keeping the line moving with a great start thru 5 innings thus far. And I mean great.

You're not superstitious are you?

(It's a no hitter!)

It's funny. Not many other areas of my life am I superstitious, but when it comes to jinxing a no-hitter? Yes. Totally superstitious.
