Everyone says we will but I hope we do not. I do not want to give up prospects, and would like to think Darvish will return as will Smyle. Too wishful thinking?

You can’t count on Smyly and if he does come back there’s a decent chance it’s only as a reliever.

 

With Darvish, it’s always tricky when you are coming back from triceps injuries. I’m thinking it’s likely but certainly not certain he comes back

This rotation has been bad. Not “bad for a contending team,” actually bad. I don’t think you can count on anything from smyly and there’s a non-zero chance Darvish is dead.

 

That said, there’s so little out there, that the cost would be more than a smart front office would pay.

 

For goo or ill, this is basically your 2018 Cubs. That said, I expect more out of Hedricks and Q in the second half, and as impossible as it seems, the offense continues to improve. I think we have what it takes to roll the dice as well as anyone in the playoffs.
