This is nothing like last year and everyone will have forgotten the slow start a month from now.

Yeah it shouldn’t be. Last year at this time going through the rotation the 3rd starter was what Anderson, Lackey or Butler? Tomorrow Yu horsefeathering Darvish is taking the mound.

Am I reading this wrong? Wasn’t our third starter like Arrieta?

ETA: Never mind. I was reading it wrong.

This is true; it's MUCH more disappointing when good pitchers suck as opposed to jerk crapbag pitchers.

You know you are good when this is the response to winning a series against us

To be fair, the Cubs used to (still do?) keep out the media for 10 minutes after every win to have a dance party.

This was annoying, but whatever. Feast on the Braves, who are actually really bad.

I'm pretty sure that and the bullpen dances are the motivation behind this. They're mocking the Cubs for not hating fun.

Sure, any other team doing some dancing, celebration horsefeathers is just trying to mock the Cubs. That's not paranoid AT ALL.

Hey, David; just in case you're distracted plotting your elaborate revenge against the Pirates for the unforgivable crime of locker room celebrations, you're up next for today's game thread.

The team that pioneered ‘No Cubs No’ and just tried to tell off Baez and Contreras for being too enthusiastic sure seems like a strong candidate

This right here. The Pirates are not only the fun police, but they clearly have a history of trash talking about the Cubs (don't forget Cole's whole "they're not that great" or whatever comments) when they play them. The Cubs are the team that gets some ornery old boring baseball guys mad all the time by dancing and celebrating. There's obvious subtext.

This basically hinges on the idea that the Pirates must never celebrate after a win, and that the Cubs somehow have the market cornered on dancing in a locker room. Yeah, of course there's the bonus salt of being able to do it to the Cubs at Wrigley after talking their Home Opener series against them, but to act like that's the ONLY reason they're doing it is EXTRA salty.

I'm willing to be proven wrong that they have a tradition of such post-game celebrations, but given their repeated antagonism across several seasons plus the events of this series, it's not a hard conclusion to draw.

Thinking it's likely something they did ONLY to mock the Cubs is along the lines of Schwarber Fan making ridiculous assumptions about players' and teams' performances just because in his head he thinks it's something they "always" do against the Cubs. Teams doing goofy horsefeathers in locker rooms post-wins is hardly something unique to the Cubs.

I just think it's funny that the dudes usually coming down on folks for being ridiculously pessimistic about the Cubs when they suck turn around and think the Pirates dancing in the locking room MUST be some slight against the Cubs. Holy overreaction.
