That's the thing that's great about Chapman. Even if he's in a jam and not pitching well, he still has that 100+ MPH heater to fall back on. Other pitchers that get themselves in jams put themselves in a position where they have to throw their best pitch over the plate and it's not good enough.

Nope.

 

I mean, if Joe wants to win this game he has no choice but we really need Strop and Rondon back for close games.

 

We don't "need" them to maintain a 14-15 game lead

 

Nor do they need Chapman, really.

Sure if you ignore all those wild pitches....

 

I'd say two were velocity induced and caught easily if 95 mph in same location.

It really feels like these guys play as one, that they believe in both themselves as well as each other. Their individual and collective will to win is as high as I have ever witnessed. There is a fire burning in this team's heart and possibly their belly that will not be put out, a look in their eyes that would shake even their hardiest foes.

 

I just think they're good at baseball.
