With the draftees arriving, promotions are likely coming. And Jose Paulino should top the list.

7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 7 K tonight.

This was his 6th start. He's gone 5 IP, 5 IP, 6, 6, 6 and now 7. He's been remarkably consistent, not giving up more than 1 ER or 1 BB in any game with 4 scoreless outings and 3 without a walk. It's time.

Jose Paulino with 7 more shutout innings (7 Ks, 1 BB, 2 Hs, 7 GB outs) for Eugene. That's 3 run in 35 IP there with 37 Ks, 3 BBs, and 19 Hs.

Paredes 0/3 with 2 Ks because why not, he was due I guess.

Edit: Sorry CW, browser got weird and missed your post. Definitely agreed that Paulino's getting a callup once this deadline passes. My guess is that SB will see a few new bodies in August - Paulino, de la Cruz, and a bat or two like Pieters.

No worries. Happens to me too.

Yeah, I expect De La Cruz will get to South Bend soon as well. I would think some of the college arms in SB will get bumped up to Myrtle Beach with some of either Hedges, Stinnett or Martinez getting promoted to Tennessee. With Blackburn traded, they should have a rotation spot open with Pries likely assigned to Iowa.

Not a good outing for Nathan. Got an out, then walked the bases loaded. 8 strikes in 21 pitches tonight.

When they're about to call a guy up, especially an established big leaguer, don't they tell them to spend their last few minor league games focused more on repetition and working on their weaknesses than getting guys out? So it could be that he was more experimenting than pitching last night.

Nice, I assume that will knock Alzolay out of the rotation and give SB the lefty heavy SP group they were supposed to have all year. Kellogg, Morrison, Sands, Steele, and Paulino with de la Cruz on deck soon enough.

I noticed this too:

Eddy Martinez this July (75 PAs): .397/.480/.651 with 13 Ks (17.3%), 10 XBHs (2 HRs), and 12 RS....He's pretty badass by a couple arbitrary start points, very good since May 2 (another arbitrary), and yeah overall this is turning into a good debut season for a guy many did not expect to open in full season ball.

Depends on what they do with Blackburn's vacated spot in the Tennessee rotation. They could move Martinez up from MB and Morrison up from SB.
