Attitude aside, he seemed like he was always playing with maximum effort when out there until this past week when he looked disinterested, although that could be the injury.

#1 memory of his time as a Bear is Jay finding him in the corner of the end zone to beat the Vikings with under 20 seconds left in Trestman's second game.

I'm anti-tanking from the get-go no matter what the sport is. The Bears have reached a point where their chances of the playoffs are remote, plus they've mostly just lost close games instead of being catastrophically bad, so it's not like they're desperately rebuilding from a complete disaster. Pump up that draft.

I'm saying weren't you one of the people pissed at people rooting for losses when the team was in last place in August or am I remembering the wrong guy?

Well, yeah, [expletive] like the obsessive Fecal League standings and barren game threads mostly populated with chumps bemoaning Cubs wins are things any sane person can't stand.

Plus the Cubs have a FO that I was confident in drafting well regardless of whether they had a top pick or not. I still don't know what to make of these clowns running the Bears, but I'm not nearly as confident in them.

Not to mention that NFL teams are pretty much always one good offseason away from being good.

Right, plus, like I've said, the Bears actually haven't looked that bad this year. It's obviously a generalization, but they've been in pretty much all of their games and their losses have been close. You'll see the roster shake up after this season, but given how they've looked with all of the injuries and the deficiencies they had going into the season, I feel like a solid draft could really go a long way to turning them around quickly.

Except you are rooting openly for losing and were doing so when they were one under .500 with more than faint playoff hopes.

Plus drafting earlier as compared to drafting later is much more important in baseball

I will root for wins until at least the next loss.

There's a whopping 4 games left in a 16 game season. It ain't like being some douche acting like their night is ruined because the Cubs somehow managed to eke out a win in game #126 in an season that was toast before it even began, but hey, YA GOT ME.

Living amongst delusional Redskins fans, as I do, I'm firmly in the please win this game camp. There are so many mediocre teams out there that it would be pretty difficult for the Bears to improve their draft position by more than a couple spots. Plus, in a capped league, picking in the middle rounds offers the advantage of not having to commit as much money to unproven guys.

The rookie scale changed that equation

Pace's first draft was pretty good.

Then there is hope.

Until White is a star, or close, Pace has not had a "good" first draft.

Completely disagree.

Unless White completely flops, you have Goldman, Langford, Amos, and Grasu all contributing already, the first three at pretty damn high levels.

That's damn good.

And White seems to be physically gifted enough that I'd have a hard time seeing a complete flop.

Be careful how you use "Contributing" because Grasu still is not a positive player.

In general I do say it's too early to grade though, good or bad.
