[expletive] st. louis. if we can beat kershaw and greinke, we can beat those cheating racist [expletive] too

i am enjoying the current run as much as anyone, but we are setting ourselves up for disappointment if we expect anything resembling good play/results against the cardinals.

Man, longest winning streak in baseball right now and can't get closer than 6.5 out. I can't wait until the Cards comeback down to earth after the pitching luck regresses to the mean and their terrible offense continues to rear it's ugly head.

4 games is the longest winning streak right now? What the [expletive], baseball.

[expletive] that; they're just a bunch of mortals. Drunk, drunk mortals. Punch them in their hearts.

Man this team has been fun to watch. So many tight games.

And another manager wasting his stud closer waiting for the mythical save...

Err isn't Jansen their closer? And they used him in a high leverage situation.

They waited until bases were loaded in the 10th. That's dumb.

I see what you are saying. But to be fair to Mattingly, with who the Cubs had up, I can't blame him for taking a chance on another reliever and saving Jansen for Rizzo and Bryant.

It did not work out, but to me that's a total fail job by the reliever. He just didn't do his job tonight.

Ok, but he also didn't use him in the 9th against our 3-4-5, one of whom was Kris Bryant.

By waiting and putting Jansen into an incredibly improbable situation to get out of unharmed, he wasted him. If you are ok with using him without a lead, then use him without a lead.

He's not wrong. I would eat a shoe if the Cubs beat the Cardinals in a playoff series this year.

i don't need more reasons to want the cubs to beat the cardinals in the playoffs this year, but hell why not

you don't need to eat the whole thing, but you will definitely need to provide video evidence that you chewed and swallowed a portion of the shoe, as to be determined by the board. i will be the deciding vote in the event of a tie

Yeah, he got away with it but not using Jansen in the ninth was the bigger problem. I totally get not wanting to use him against Baxter-Szczur-Fowler and hoping Peralta could get through the 10th so Jansen could face the top of the order if it went 11.
