I actually ended up at the game yesterday. I was about to walk into the Cubby Bear, and somebody offered me a ticket for $100. It was a pretty good frickin ticket, too. It was kinda cool to be at the first Jumbotron game, and the first game of the Maddon era.

 

Oh... so... why does the beer selection suck so bad at Wrigley and at the Cubby Bear? The 312 IPA was the only IPA they had in the building?!? That's ridiculous. The Cubby Bear might be the first bar that I've been to in Chicago that didn't have Anti-Hero.

IPAs are generally my favorite type of beer but I think it is getting over-saturated. When you have small brew pubs dedicating 2/3 of their house brews to Pale Ales and IPA variants, and add in the seasonals, you're left without much variety. This happened to me a few weeks ago when I just wasn't in an IPA mood.

At least as of last year they had Green Line at a few places, much better than crappy 312 Pale

Are there really no other IPAs in ABI's massive portfolio?

 

Then again, even if there are, they're pushing Goose IPA pretty hard these days. Gotta be a priority for them.
