Hello all,

After seeing just how many fantasy posts this place has, I was curious if there were any degenerates that hang here and play on draftkings/fanduel. I just started playing on DraftKings for NFL only at about week 4 and it has been so far so good. In fact, good enough that I was thinking of taking up MLB when the season comes around.

So yeah, this is basically a poll/plea for advice.

I've been thinking about trying it out. Is there a preference between Draft Kings/ FanDuel, such as is one easier than the other, does one give better winnings, ect. I haven't looked too much into it. Seems like an quick way to make some easy money if you know what you are doing.

The biggest difference between the two is that Draftkings uses PPR for their NFL contests, while FanDuel doesn't. The amount that is taken out as rake for head-to-head matchups is the same. The overlay on tournaments is fairly similar from what I have heard, but if anything DraftKings might have more value because of not quite as much participation in guaranteed tournaments. Someone that I know who has been winning on both sites has had a higher win rate on DraftKings, but that could be for any number of reasons. I wouldn't be surprised if the PPR site is easier money just because people see a cheap Gore or Morris and jump on it without adjusting to the rules properly. Not sure about the differences in bonuses and frequent player points.

I'm trying Draft Kings out this week. Right now the biggest debate I'm having is whether to roll out Gronk as a TE with Stills as a WR, or go cheaper at TE with Fleener and then start someone like Beckham at WR. I think that Gronk and Stills has the higher upside, but worried that Stills will be a dud.

I would steer you toward Delanie Walker or Niles Paul at TE. Maybe Donnell if you have some more cash to burn. I do like either Beckham or Stills at WR though. With the price difference, I don't see why you would take Gronk over Graham.

I used to do FanDuel. A lot. Did basketball every night a few seasons back and even did write-ups with daily fantasy advice on rotogrinders for money.

Basketball was pretty easy money as you really need to follow it closely to do well. So it would be easy to take out the people who only did it casually. I found football to be too much of a crapshoot for me. I'm a good season fantasy player, but from week to week it can be a bit maddening. I'm sure if I bet smaller and stretched my money out over a longer period of time, I would come out even or on top in the long-run. But I always ended up creating a team that I liked so much that I entered a ton of contests with it only to have my top player get concussed in the first quarter while my opponent had some lucky defense go off and put up 40. This year I've gone with entering yahoo pro leagues for money. I'm going to make the playoffs in all the leagues I've entered (thank you Andrew Luck), but I wish they would add a PPR option and 12 or 14 team leagues.
