I just need to keep reminding myself that Baez does this every time he reaches a new level.

 

It's difficult to watch and not be down on the kid. It was a lot easier staying level headed when you read about his bad starts in the minor league forum

 

Weird. It's much easier to take for me when I'm seeing all the loud contact and massive HRs in between. I'm really not disappointed at all.

60% contact rate now for Baez - Olt was 65%, Lake was 61%

 

he improved significantly from his abysmal contact rates early at Iowa, but that was largely credited to a change in his swing that allowed him to reach the outside fastball

 

he'll mostly just have to stop swinging at so many pitches out of the zone, which is do-able as he gets more comfortable
