Tonight's HR brings Bryant back to a tie with Joey Gallo for the lead in the Great Minor League Home Run Race. They are both at 37.

I'm just glad Gallo is running away with the other two categories in the Great All or Nothing Race. Gallo's got a 41.7% K% and a 56.3% contact% at AA.

Yeah I don't see any way he avoids becoming Mark Reynolds. He may have a smidge more raw power than Bryant, but his hit tool is far inferior. Of course he is two years younger.

Fun with arbitrary endpoints:

Kris Bryant in his last 105 PA (since July 10): 17.1% BB% and 22.9% K%

The break pretty nicely splits his AAA PA in half (99 vs 97).

Before the break: 30.3 K%, 12.1 BB%, 1.105 OPS

After the break: 23.7 K%, 15.5 BB%, 1.113 OPS

He's hitting fewer HR (9 vs 6) but making up for it by being far more selective at the plate. If he can maintain a strikeout rate in the low to mid 20s I have a lot more confidence in him coming up and having success quickly.
