Guy in my league has given up and looking for keepers and offered me this;

Brady, DeMarco Murray, Chiefs D, Steve Smith (none are keeper eligible or worthwhile at cost)

In return he wants Alshon Jeffrey ($4 keeper) Michael Crabtree ($3 keeper) and Andrew Luck ($24 keeper). I still have plenty of good keeper options into next year and can only keep 3 (though none probably as strong of value as Jeffrey) The question is what is my improvement this year? I'm not sold on Murray and while Brady could out produce Luck going forward, I'm not certain. I feel I'm likely downgrading from Jeffrey to Smith. So the big prize is the Chiefs D who have bee awesome, but I've had pretty good success playing the waiver wire game and have NE and Carolina currently which look like pretty good bets to cover the most of the last 9 weeks based on matchups. But if I felt good about the Chiefs continuing their play, it may be good enough. However they still have Denver on the schedule twice which has to make you pause at any D.

I can post full rosters too if anyone is interested.

So same guy is looking to deal, and he is in the tank and looking for keepers. RB consistency has been my weakest link, but I'm not sure his roster helps me with that.

Side by Side Roster comparisons

My Roster (Keeper value)

QB:

Andrew Luck($24)

RB:

Reggie Bush($29)

Zac Stacy

CJ Spiller($23)

Donald Brown

Jonathan Stewart

WR:

DeSean Jackson($14)

Antonio Brown($10)

Alshon Jeffrey($4)

Aaron Dobson

TE:

Tony Gonzalez($14)

Rob Housler

D/ST:

Carolina

New England

Buffalo

K:

Prater($2)

IR:

Vereen($9)(needs to come off next week most likely) and Crabtree($3)

His Roster, excluding guys who are off the table with him. Not posting keeper value as they all are ineligible or too high)

QB:

Nick Foles

Tom Brady

RB:

Andre Ellington

DeMarco Murray

MJD

WR:

Larry Fitzgerald

Hakeem Nicks

Eric Decker

Steve Smith

TE:

Jimmy Graham

D/ST, who cares

I don't immediately see anything I love, but Jimmy Graham keeps jumping out to me. I think Foles or Brady could out-produce Luck as well. I really like my keepers going into next year, but I'm capped at three, so I feel like I primed to make a move for now and still carry over 3 good keeper options next year. I'm very attached to my three big WR, but having trouble on which one I'd part with. I don't think I can go into next year using all three keepers on them, but they're also pretty critical to this years run.

Any thoughts?

Well it ended up being two separate trades, but this is what I ended up dealing:

Andrew Luck, Tony Gonzalez, and Michael Crabtree

For

Nick Foles, Tom Brady, Jimmy Graham, Chiefs D.

(While dropping Rob Housler and Pats D to accommodate.)

The one trade won't go through until after this week so really hoping Graham doesn't have an absurd week as this will be my make or break week for playoffs most likely.

How'd I do?

I've never done a keeper auction, so I have a hard time opining on that, but obviously as far as this season goes you killed it with that trade. I just hope you structured the trades so you have one of Brady or Luck this weekend.

Still have Luck this weekend, then going forward I'll play the Brady/Foles option which I'm kind of dreading as I previously didn't have any QB decision.

As far as the keeper auction goes, it was hard to lose Luck as QBs tend to get overrated in the auction, but I still have 5-6 solid WR/RB keepers with a limit if 3 so I felt I could afford to give up some keeper status to go big this year, and I'll just have to funnel some of my WR savings into a QB next auction.

Well there's a chance Foles winds up as a starter somewhere next year for what i'd imaine would be a dollar right?

Players not drafted aren't eligible. Graham out of keeper options, and Brady just expensive, so I'm all in on this year for those guys.
