Seriously, though, management has done a brilliant job with the cheap position player pickups this season. Too bad they can't work the bullpen as well.

 

They really have. It's a complete reversal (on the position player part) from 2012.

 

Our season sunk on three things:

 

1) Our "core" stars either being meh or awful

2) Our bullpen

3) Clutch/variance/luck/sequencing/whatever

Valbuena was a pretty good pickup in 2012

plus he sucks and won't be pitching in the playoffs if they make it, and they'll buy him out after this season, so who really cares if his arm falls off.
