still only 6 strikeouts in 80+ PA

 

that's the main thing i take away from the almora/soler debuts. they are just not striking out at all. very exciting.

‏@thekapman I went 2 see Jorge Soler tonight + I came away very impressed with his athleticism and long term potential. 2-4 with a long HR and a single.

 

@harrypav after Soler's home run, the chatter with the pitchers charting the game was about Baez's power. Found out something new (con't)

 

@harrypav for one, Javy wasn't supposed to play that day. He hit in the cage, last minute injury pushed him into the lineup. (con't)

 

@harrypav So, he rushed to get his cleats on barely getting dressed in time. They couldn't believe he destroyed the first live pitch he saw. Freakish.

 

@harrypav they went on to ask if I saw the Cedar Rapids (IIRC) blast, which may have been longer. They were in awe of Javy two ways (cont' again)

obviously, but he's 18 and playing his first few months of pro ball, so i'm not paying too much attention to that yet. i'm more impressed by his hit tool.
