chuck, get jhoulys chacin off your minor league roster by the end of the week or he's getting taken off your roster. kind of confused as to how he got there in the first place.

Also, Smyly is coming back to the majors this weekend and will have more than 10 starts this year. So I'm dropping Paul Maholm, as the only obvious non-keeper among my starters.

As much as I like Chuck, he's got to be the most flagrant rules violator amongst current managers.

put de aza on your DL. you're not dropping possibly the hottest pitcher in baseball over the last 2 months right before the playoffs start.

Only one more week I have to keep my roster legal and find seven starts. It'll be nice to have one less thing to do each week. Gonna save me, like, around five minutes a week or so.

If he makes the playoffs it'll be while having an illegal roster many weeks of the year. Really nice.

[expletive]. I didn't see that de aza got moved to the dl. I moved this weekend and just got internet back at home 5 minutes ago (so the first thing I did was fix my RK roster - I'm dedicated).

If you want to put Maholm back on my roster, that's fine. Otherwise, you can let the lucky waiver wire guy pick him up.

This sunday is basically the deadline for adding a keeper, right? Teams out of the playoffs can't add FA's during that time and we've previously ruled that playoff teams can't use that advantage to keep the players they pick up the next few weeks.

I'm remembering correctly, right?

those are pretty vague guidelines. i think teams should be able to continue to add prospect-y type guys after they've been eliminated. that would be a pretty unfair advantage to the teams still playing. the teams out of it shouldn't be dicks and pick up aaron harang or somebody that a playoff team might need to get a 7th start though.

I thought the decision last year was to revert back to the lineup as of the week before the playoffs for all teams. So guys picked up after Sunday have to be dropped after the year no matter if you're in the playoffs or not.

Bright line rule. Easy to follow. Fair for all. Am I missing something?

The rule we had last year is that the teams in the playoffs had to drop all their adds that they made during the playoffs. Essentially, all offseason rosters would be set as of Sunday.

Crisp and clean, just like you like it.

I understood it the way MR and Tim typed it.

This was my understanding as well.

+1

Although, during the years I was out of the play-offs I did not like the rule. While the other tams were fighting in the play-offs I could be looking at September call-ups and see if anyone was worth keeping. Although most years there was not.
