Rays and the perfect game

I'll ask the people smarter than me:

 

Is it just dumb luck the Rays are the victim of 3 of the last 6 perfect games (plus a no-hitter), or is there some statistical reason for this? I don't know what the odds are for a team to be a victim of 3 perfect games in 3 years, but I'd imagine it's pretty astronomical.

#Rays 3 outs away from being on wrong end of 3rd perfect game in 4 years. All other AL teams have been perfectoed 3 times in last 27 years.

 

4 no-hitters and 3 perfect games since 2009 for a franchise that will average 90 wins over those 4 years.

The Rays had it happen to them three times. The Rays formed in 1998.

 

The Dodgers had it happen to them three times. The Dodgers formed in 1890.

There are plenty of underlying things I'm sure you could list that would make a team more likely to run into a perfect game, but I highly dout any of those things would apply to the Rays of recent past. Or any MLB team for that matter. Has to be just bad luck.

I have no idea if such a thing could be calculated, but if it could be, I'd be fascinated to see the odds of such an occurrence.
